Why women live longer than men
From my Inbox yesterday. And I pass it on with all due respect and admiration for men :)
Before I was a mom, I would have seen these as proof that men were somewhat stupid. But now, as a mother who's lived with nine males (hubby and eight sons) for 25 years, I see it very differently: men are just built with such singlemindedness and determination that they will not admit defeat.
It is the humble nobility of everyday men living everyday lives - trying to get the job done no matter what. I've been the beneficiary of this countless times over.
There are 25 pictures/captions in all, so be sure to click to see more. I especially like the one on the next page: "It starts at a young age and men just get worse."
And as far as the pictures go: You win a few, you lose a few.

Standing on a bucket on TOP of a ladder, brilliant.

That CAN'T be right.

Ummmm..at least someone's holding the ladder steady

Isn't this a violation of the seatbelt laws?

Shouldn't he be wearing a lifejacket?

Who needs a truck?

HMMM, maybe he couldn't see the huge yellow sign that said CLEARANCE.

Wonder what HE makes an hour? It can't be enough.

I get by with a little help from my friends.

Oh yeah, THAT's safe!

Hey, I strapped it down!

Hey, he has a special license to drive that truck.

Maybe we shouldn't have parked it on the side of a hill.

No problem, I can see through the holes.

It starts at a young age and men just get worse.

You hold it while I whack it with this hammer.

A new OSHA approved substitute for ladders.

Ropes are for sissies.

Kubota's new tractor mounted scaffolding.

Always follow traffic signs.

All I wanna know is, HOW?

Now I wanna know why.

In a hurry?

I can cut it down AND load it in the truck!!
And now just one picture of a stupid woman ...................

Comments
I couldn't relate to any of the pictures except for the one captioned " It starts at a young age and men just get worse." You see, when I was a young child, I had some sort of odd obsession with sticking my head and arms through things. I got myself similarly caught in a chair but, in my case, the chair could be taken apart. Did I learn my lesson? Even after getting my arm stuck between the fridge and the wall, getting my head stuck in a fence, and assorted other calamities, it wasn't until my teens that I finally got over this bizarre obsession --- and it took my getting my best friend stuck in a locked gate to cure me!

It's so good to know that men don't have a monopoly on stupidity.

I had to laugh at the boy stuck in the chair. The other day, my three-year-old boy got his spoon stuck in his fork, and there was no way either of us could get them apart - but his nine-year-old brother could do it! :-D

I used to live in the Philippines and to travel by jeepney is an experience.
My little joke was how many people does a jeepney hold? One More!
Here is a picture (Not mine) of people riding a jeepney.
http://www.bigjimsphilippinesexperience.com/images/transport/Jeepney.jpg
The caption read, "...We rode all the way into town (9km) hanging on the back of the jeepney, as usual, because it is too crowded inside."

A boy at my sons school got stuck between the steel rods in back of a chair. The firemen had to cut it off him.
The teacher described how he started sitting on on foot then both, and gradually slipped his feet, leg and body through the chair till he was good and stuck.
Scared me to death! My Coder could have done that! I could just see it!

A few weeks ago, my 8-year-old daughter who has
Down syndrome trapped her head between wrought
iron railings on our staircase - one of my
worst fears! My husband was out of town, and I
was a little panic-stricken because her head
would not go back through. I pictured paramedics
at the house, cutting the railings, her screaming
with fear and possibly injury, and could not come
up with a good option to get her out on our own.
A few minutes into the drama, she calmly turned
her body sideways and slid the rest of her body
between the railings, one shoulder at a time,
following the path her head took, and just
slipped right into my arms! My little sweetie
with Down syndrome figured out something that
perplexed me while I was in panic mode!!! I
always said that she was a good problem-solver....

I was checking my site statistics and following visitor paths to see where people come from to my website.
This is not the first time that I have noticed people coming to my website from your blog but today is the first time I worked out why. It is my jeepney pic. I am the larger sized man wearing the blue shirt and shorts.
Because of hotlink blocking, the picture will not display just by clicking on the link. You have to copy and paste. However, I am happy for you to load the picture directly into your blog. If there are other pictures you would like, you can load them too. Just let me know which ones before you post them.
Along with your theme of men acting stupidly, you may also like to have 2 videos embedded into your blog. One is of a group of Filipinos riding on top of a jeepney, The other is of a Filipino man wearing only Flip flops while he works in a furniture factory.
To discuss this matter further, please contact me at sibbick61@yahoo.com.au

Hi Jim -
Thanks for introducing yourself and for not getting mad at me for running the picture - which is making its way around the world via email. I am glad to know the true author of the picture. Visiting your site makes me want to visit the Philippines too someday. (And I just had to look it up to learn how to spell it correctly :)
