This weekend marked Sophia's last musical at Loudoun Valley High - Gilbert and Sullivan's The Mikado. She played Katisha, the Daughter-in-Law-Elect - a broad comedic role which required her being angry most of the time - while singing operetta - and wearing a heavy fat suit while physically covering the entire stage, dancing, and even carrying a guy on her back!

In three weeks she graduates and starts a summer job directing children's theater for The Growing Stage in Loudoun.

In twelve weeks she is off to Liberty, where she will major in Drama and minor in Voice.

All in fulfillment I guess of the glimpse of her future we had when she was 12 years old and she rounded up a bunch of little kids, charged them $15. for a week-long workshop - five days 9-12 with a show on Friday for the parents. She wrote a musical called Rockstar Mania, directed, designed costumes and gathered props, made programs and actually produced her own successful summer show.

What an amazing daughter! Can you tell I'm proud of her?

Love,
