American Heritage Girls - need interviews

american%20heritage%20girls.jpg

One of my upcoming assignments is an article on American Heritage Girls,

"a nonprofit scouting organization dedicated to building women of integrity through service to God, family, country, and community.

Just reading the order of priorities resonates with me - I'm glad to hear that there is an organization which is picking up the baton dropped by the Girl Scouts when they went radical.

Don't get me wrong, I know there are individual Brownie and Girl Scout troops out there that are on target. But the leadership, goals and mission of the GSA organization has become quite alarming.

The Cookie Crumbles: The Girl Scouts Go PC

The Girl Scouts' New Radicalism

Pro-Abortion Feminist Scouts

I'm just providing a few links in case it is news to anyone that the Girl Scouts - unlike the Boy Scouts of America who held fast to their mission in the face of the most outrageous adversity (losing meeting space in public schools because of their no-gay-leader position and subsequent ACLU lawsuits, losing public funding even as Planned Parenthood gains more) - the Girl Scouts caved completely. God and country are out. Sexual diversity and "tolerance" are in.

I stopped buying Girl Scout cookies years ago. I know - it's a tough call because those poor little girls don't know and many moms are just naive about the organization's agenda or making do because of their own fond memories of scouting. But I'd rather skip the calories and give my money to the Boy Scouts - who still stand for something noble and necessary in modern America.

Now you can see why I was excited to be asked to accept this assignment and learn more about a scouting alternative for girls that's back to basics.

To learn more about the organization and how to form a troop, visit them at American Heritage Girls.

And if you know any American Heritage girls or know of a troop in your area, please ask them to contact me at megamommy12(at)gmail(dot)com.

Thanks!

Love,

Let me know when the article comes out. I just came across them THIS WEEK while looking for a GS alternative (so sad. I was a GS from Brownies through HS and LOVED it! I wish my daughters could, too.)

Hi Barbara,
Would love to talk to you as the founder and Executive Director of AHG. Also would be happy to help you interview others who serve as volunteers and girls who enjoy the program.

We are blessed by the opportunity!

Don't feel bad about skipping Girl Scout Cookies. Those little girls only get 30 cents per box they sell. It is highway robbery for all the hard work they do!

I've been involved with AHG for more than 6 years now, and can testify what a blessing the program has been to our entire family.
