New York Times rejects McCain editorial, saying it should "mirror" Obama
Breaking news. How long will these people control our country's news? Oh, that's right - they don't anymore. . . .
NYT REJECTS MCCAIN'S EDITORIAL; SHOULD 'MIRROR' OBAMA
Mon Jul 21 2008 12:00:25 ETAn editorial written by Republican presidential hopeful McCain has been rejected by the NEW YORK TIMES -- less than a week after the paper published an essay written by Obama, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
The paper's decision to refuse McCain's direct rebuttal to Obama's 'My Plan for Iraq' has ignited explosive charges of media bias in top Republican circles.
'It would be terrific to have an article from Senator McCain that mirrors Senator Obama's piece,' NYT Op-Ed editor David Shipley explained in an email late Friday to McCain's staff. 'I'm not going to be able to accept this piece as currently written.'
Drudge exclusive here.

Not in the least bit surprised by this. What's truly shocking is when I send Obama emails out to friends and receive caustic replies and requests to have their names removed from my email list. People send me political writings all the time. Some I agree with and some I don't. I simply delete the latter. I'll leave you with the reply I received from a dear friend just last week to an email I sent out:
"Libby,
What I find frightening and disturbing is that Americans would take part in hate mongering and propaganda that one would expect from the mob before Pontius Pilate. I find it ironic and inappropriate for someone who speaks of a loving and tolerant god to promote the opposite. Please remove me from your email list. Thank you, B."
I was dumbfounded. I find her mob/Pontius Pilate comparison very telling indeed. Obama truly is looked at as some type of Messiah figure. And the fact that she intimated hypocrisy on my part was stunning. Has everyone abandoned all rational thought? Sheesh...
So, no, it does not surprise me at all that they would not publish McCain's essay. Sickening!

If this is the way newspapers are going to handle the election coverage, we are in trouble. To get any good, real information Americans are having to dig through reports themselves. And of course we all know most people do not take the time to do this therefore they will be severely mislead.
Thank you for being out there to help dig up good information to inform your readers about what is really going on.

I know I shouldn't let THIS sway me, but this kind of coverage taints any possible sway toward Obama for me - not that I was tempted to begin with - but I guess guilt by association.
