Planned Parenthood's sleazy outreach to teens
Not for the kids:
[This is not just alarmist - see comments and go to the site yourself to see!]
I can't emphasize enough: Planned Parenthood masquerades as a non-profit while receiving millions in your tax dollars to fund programs like this - and to lobby against abstinence funding and pro-life candidates. In other words, you are paying every day to keep their juggernaut rolling.
Parents, you need to make your voices heard! Please consider joining STOPP:
STOPP is an organization of parents. Parents who share the belief that we have the God-given right and obligation to raise our children, from the moment of conception. Parents who believe that our obligation extends to making sure that any monies collected from us (either by the government, by a company that sells us products, or by some charitable fund) is not used to support the slaughter of innocent babies or the abuse of our growing children. And, finally, parents who believe our school systems should be dedicated to educating our children on basic skills and not using their time for the social engineering programs of PP and other groups.

Barbara-
I just went to the website from Planned Parenthood. It is appalling. My jaw is still on the floor. I can't believe the idiots, and I say that word kindly, at PP who advocate such behavior in this day and age. It is selling our kids short and, well, I'm aghast, truly. Thanks for highlighting this. It's ludicrous that I am paying for such banal, idiotic, smut.

Oh my goodness.
I was hoping that maybe the video you had posted was a bit alarmist. I decided to check out the PP website itself. It was far, far worse than I expected.
Words fail me.

I just plain "don't get" the PP site. I mean, they portray sexual relationships in the most awkward, horrible way possible, and act like it's normal.
And what is with the creepy guy who is giving the information.
I just don't get what they are trying to say with that. Of course, perhaps they think all the "cool" graphic language and situations will appeal to teens in a way that doesn't require rational thought.
Eww.

I just wanted to know what was your take on the new series "Secret life of an american teenager" that is currently on the ABC family channel (http://abcfamily.go.com/abcfamily/path/section_Shows+Secret-Life-Of-The-American-Teenager/page_Detail).
I saw two episodes last night and I was amazed at how they are depicting the topic of teenage sex and pregnancy - I know it is common- trust me - my sister had my niece at 15.
I did not know if I liked it or not. On the one hand it showed the pressures that teenagers face in high school with sex, etc. But the parenting that they show (with the exception of one set of parents) seems that they are out of touch with their children and their lives. The mom of the central character - Amy - did not even notice that her daughter was pregnant when she was standing in front of her in shorts and a T-Shirt yet the whole school knew because you could see - it.
Is this show trying to make us look at ourselves as parents and step back and pay more attention to our kids or is it trying to say - hey, here it is - accept it!
With the likes of Jamie Lynn Spears, the movie Juno - have our family values changed so much? It was not acceptable in my family when my sister was pregnant and it was so taboo back then but now, it seems like the norm. I just wanted to know what your take was on this. Thanks!
