Sign language for kids
Years ago, therapists started using sign language to help kids with disabilities communicate. Nowadays, signing is fun and helpful for everyone. But kids LOVE it:
This is just one of the 33 short videos available for free at Signing Time on YouTube. Be sure to bookmark and share these with your kids.

My 7 year old and 5 year old STILL love our Baby Signing Times videos! And the 2 year old begs to watch one almost every day. Great stuff. And catchy, too. . .I suppose that's the whole point! ;-)

I don't know what my kids think, but *I* love the Signing Time videos. That gal can sing, and she makes it fun (AND EASY) to learn the signs.
In some areas of the country, Signing Time has a 1/2 hour program on PBS.
There are also board books you can borrow from the library, equally as easy to learn from.

I watched one of these DVD's with my grandkids. The 4,3 and 1 year old especially love it. The kids in the video are disabled but all you see are their beauty, love of life and innocence.

We get this on our local PBS chanel, and my son *loves* it.
I was making breakfast one day and he came up to me and did the sign for paper and pencil. I'm not familiar with many signs so I had to ask him what he was doing. He said "mommmmmmmy (duhhh) paper *does sign* pencil *does sign*"
I was amazed that he was actually able to learn from the show.
Of course, I then felt very bad that I wasn't supervising him more closely. Sure, sign time is probably safe, but you never know what kind of things they'll slip into children's television!
