I found out I was pregnant the day before my 21st birthday!! As you can imagine, that ruined my plans for the weekend..the docotor wanted to do an early ultra sound(6weeks along) due to having previous surgery on my ovarys, just so that she could confirm everything was going well. As she poked the ultrasound on my belly she began getting a strange look on her face. You know, one of those looks you dont want to see on the doctors face at a moment like that. . . My excitment turned into fear when she looked over at me and told me she was seeing two heart beats.."what could that mean, i asked.." . .Does this baby have two hearts ? What could have caused this?" The doctor, knowing I was going to school to be a nurse...said "Take a deep breath..its not bad news. Just supprising. There is nothing at all wrong with the TWO babies in there" I was AMAZED!! There are absolutley no twins in mine or the fathers familys..I couldnt even speak. The doctor told me to go home and let it sink in before we went over anymore information, I had had enough for the day. . . I was so scared. I had never been a mom to one child, and now I was going to be responsible for TWO?When i told my parents they laughed. " we told you were going to get double the trouble you gave us when you were little". It took so long to sink in. And even now my son and daughter are 4 years old...and i find myself just watching them, the way they interact with eachother, the way they stick up for eachother, the way they love eachother and I cant help but feel like the luckiest mom in the whole world yet Dont get me wrong...sometimes their can be double trouble moments...daily. What one doesnt think of the other one will..but every moment is worth it. My little girls name is Chloe..she has brown eyes, and brown hair. She is all girl and I love it. My sons name is Casten..he has the most beautiful blue eyes and hair so blonde it looks irredesint. They are completley oppisite. There are so many joys to having twins...its amazing to watch them grow together. My little girl thinks shes my sons mother..always worried about him. She likes to zip his jacket, tell him goodnight stories, hold and compfort him when he is sad, and sometimes even tries to punish him when he misbehaves. We often have to have talks about who the mom is.:) He loves his sister just as much, but shows it in a more "boyish" kind of way...like sharing his legos or watching out for her in school. (pre-school) The bond they share already is facinating to me. And I look forward to watching them grow into young adults. Just not too fast!
