Adoption announcements

Gayle of Day by Day sent me this beautiful announcement of their newest blessing.

So lovely!

Because I know there are other families in the process of adopting, I asked if I could share it here in case anyone needed ideas for their own announcements.

And speaking of announcements, my daughter Samantha and son-in-law Kip will be welcoming their sixth child in September. They've been in the process of adopting a baby from Guatemala for a couple years. Those who've been around here for a while may remember that their first baby died and the mother of the second one had a change of heart (which is a happy ending, after all). Then when Guatemala tightened their adoption policy it began to seem like this was something that would just not happen.

Now it has come to pass. Everything is final except their appointment to come pick up our new granddaughter within the next few weeks. She will be one year old in October. I cannot publish her name or pictures until they bring her home.

The funny thing is that when Samantha got the call she immediately went into nesting mode - you know, like in the final week before you give birth - not just getting out the crib and preparing clothes, but cleaning the house top to bottom.

God definitely planted something in us, didn't He?

Thanks, Gayle for sharing this! May Jack always be a blessing to you, and you to him.

Love,
