CNN: Obama's opposition to Born Alive Infant Protection Act
Obama has lied repeatedly about his oppostion to the Born Alive Infant Protection Act - a bill protecting babies born alive despite efforts to kill them in the womb from death by neglect/isolation. His vote on this is important because it shows that pro=abortion position is not nuanced but that of an idealogue who has voted for the atrocities to continue in the name of hte sanctity of Roe v. Wade.
This has hit the news cycle before - now on the heels of Saddleback, Obama has stuck with the lie about the language not being quite right for his taste. But this bill went before the Illinois Senate three times and he led the opposition in voting it down - even the thrid time when the language was the same as the federal law, which was supported by such stalwart liberals as Edward Kennedy.
This is from a news report on CNN July 7:
I know Jill Stanek and trust her completely.

Do you really know Jill Stanek? I seriously admire her, though I had to stop reading her blog for my own sanity. I just can't handle the atrocities going on in such a steady stream.
The MAIN reason I have never trusted Obama -- though I'm rarely fond of Democrat candidates -- was having read so much about his actions regarding Born Alive on Jill's blog, and his subsequent lies regarding that bill.

Do you realize what Obama and Carville are going to do? They're going to make prochoicers ask why Roe could be threatened by protecting LIVE BORN INFANTS. They're going to start questioning.
The pro-abortion people, like Obama and Carville, will not change. But prochoicers? This may be enough to push a percentage of them out of the prochoice fence into the quagmire of not being sure what's true or right. And we know which side of that quagmire anybody with any sense and decency comes out on!

Jonah Goldberg has a good article on this right now. I would link but I'm not sure if that's okay to do!
