Democrats: pro-abortion trifecta
Why is it that Republicans are urged to balance their ticket by demands (from the left and the leftist media) that a pro-life presidential candidate choose a pro-abortion VP running mate?
I don't hear any calls for Democrats to balance themselves.
Instead we have the most abortion-friendly presidential candidate in the history of our nation - who voted against legislation to outlaw the murder of babies who'd survived botched abortions. A man who says that if his daughter made a mistake he "wouldn't want her punished with a baby."
He chooses a running mate who denies the basic tenet of his church and still claims to be a Catholic, causing - finally - some calling to account by the Catholic Church:
Archbishop scolds pro-choice Biden
Valerie Richardson and Julia Duin
Tuesday, August 26, 2008DENVER | Sen. Joseph R. Biden Jr. arrived at the Democratic National Convention on Monday amid rumblings over whether his pro-choice Catholicism would help or hurt the Democratic ticket.
An Irish-Catholic from a working-class upbringing, Mr. Biden won the nod as presumptive presidential nominee Barack Obama's running mate in part because of his appeal to blue-collar Catholics, the same voters who swung during the primary for Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of New York.
Although he represents Delaware in the Senate, Mr. Biden grew up in Pennsylvania, a must-win state for Democrats in November.
But the party's hopes of winning the critical Catholic vote took a hit Sunday when Archbishop Charles Chaput of Denver said Mr. Biden should avoid taking Communion as a result of his pro-choice stand on abortion.
Then we have the New Voice of Catholic Choice - Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi - who surely has seen sonograms of her grandchildren and yet claims to not know when life begins.
Don't these people get that all their economic plans will fail if we keep discouraging women from having children? Don't they get that by their "planned parenthood" they are defaulting the future philosophical direction of the country to those raised in pro-family families?
Lest we forget: Obama addressing Planned Parenthood last year - and dontcha love the Planned Parenthood wallpaper behind him? What a presidential-looking guy!
