Michelle Obama affirms abortion

But not satisfied to just affirm "a woman's right to choose" with an Orwellian twist of phrase, she tries to sanctify it too.

Michelle Obama: Barack's Pro-Abortion Stand OKs "Sacredness" of Parenthood by Steven Ertelt LifeNews.com Editor August 29, 2008

Denver, CO (LifeNews.com) -- On the last day of the Democratic convention, Michelle Obama, the wife of the pro-abortion presidential candidate Barack, made a comment that received little notice. Yet, it could come back to haunt Obama as voters remember his off-putting comments about his daughters and abortion.

During a speech at the Women's Caucus on Thursday, Michelle Obama said her husband would be a "steadfast supporter of women's right to choose" abortion.

"He'll protect a woman's freedom of choice, because government should have no say in whether or when a woman embraces the sacred responsibility of parenthood," she added.

Found your blog while searching for a copy of Gov. Palin's acceptance speech and have been reading through a few other posts.

This is shocking. OK, not really. I think we should let the Obama's have a NARAL-fest and broadcast it live. I believe if enough people who think they are pro-choice actually listened to what these people are saying, they'd at least think twice before supporting them, maybe we'd even get a few of them to re-examine their position.

I've never understood this argument. As an elementary aged child, I was outraged by the idea of abortion. I didn't understand how someone could be allowed make the choice to "embrace parenthood" AFTER they'd already made the choice (having s*x), giving the child no choice at all in the matter. I still don't. Whenever I hear a mother of young children staunchly support abortion, my heart hurts a little for the message it must send to those young children.

If there's anything that causes me to run fast in the opposite direction of the Obama campaign, it's this thinking...and Michelle Obama.

Obama said it himself...the government can't do everything for this country, parents have to rise up and be responsible and held accountable and teach and guide and love their children. How in the world this doesn't apply to a child that you can't yet hold in your arms, I will never understand.

I wonder what the debates are going to be like.
I wonder if the topic of abortion will come up, and if Sarah Palin will speak out against it. I mean, I'm sure for you and for her, the fact that 80-90 percent of unborn children that are diagnosed with Down Syndrome, are aborted; that has got to hurt real deep.
