Pelosi lies re: Catholic doctrine on life #2
On August 3, The Hill reported on Pelosi's status vis a vis the Eucharist - which unbelievably, she has not been denied despite her blatant pro-abortion legislation. perhaps this is what has emboldened her to actually lie about her church's teaching on life? (See Pelosi lies)
Pelosi's church has not withheld communion By Bob Cusack Posted: 08/03/08 11:22 PM [ET]House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) said she, unlike other Catholic politicians who support abortion rights, has not clashed with her church about receiving communion.
In an interview on C-SPAN that aired on Sunday, Pelosi was asked about how some church officials have raised objections about whether former presidential contenders -- such as Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) and former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani (R) -- should receive communion.
Pelosi, a Roman Catholic whose district includes most of San Francisco, said she has not encountered such difficulties in her church.
"I think some of it is regional," she said, "It depends on the bishop of a certain region and fortunately for me, communion has not been withheld and I'm a regular communicant so that would be a severe blow to me if that were the case."

This is precisely why a lack of discipline within the church is so damaging. Nobody in a position of authority ever calls her on her sin of abetting abortion, and so she thinks it's not so bad. She then compounds the problem by telling everyone she knows (and legislating even more assistance for abortion) that abortion is a-okay by the church because if it was, wouldn't someone have said something to her?
