Do we care what matt Damon thinks of Sarah Palin?
I guess Associated Press does.
Another voice from the Hollywood Intelligentsia - like they have the slightest lue what's going on.
Frankly, if I were a candidate, I'd be embarrassed if these people were FOR me.

Okay.....
The really SCARY and ABSURD thing is that the press cares what Matt Damon or anyone else who is an overpaid actor (but can't articulate a decent interview) thinks!
I don't have a problem with anyone, from a garbage collector to a governor, telling who they like or dislike and why, and using all of the resources at their disposal to do so. But I have such a huge problem with the way that America, especially the press, elevates Hollywood folks. I don't care (said real sarcastically) what Matt or his buddies think about politics. Just because they are overpaid for (mostly) bad movies doesn't mean that they are any wiser about politics or our leaders or the war or......than anyone else.
I saw this earlier today and it even inflamed my almost 12 yr. old son. Funny...he doesn't know who Matt Damon is--ha!
It is Matt Damon's right to not agree with Palin politically. But, duh!!! He could be intelligent about it. Being a mayor of a town (of any size--thank you!) and governor does give a person executive experience, and much more than the limited amount of time Obama served as senator. AND, btw, Obama could not decide whether to vote "yes" or "no" over a hundred times!!! Come on, folks! THAT worries me about Obama, as well an a good number of other things!
Now that this is off my chest, I don't feel as good as I would like to, but hopefully it will help when my family volunteers at our local GOP office October and November!!!!
Done ranting......for the moment. There will be something equally stupid tomorrow.....
Barbara, thanks for the opportunity and freedom to rant.

A hockey mom who can hunt down and shoot carribou facing down Vladimir Putin is MUCH better than a community organizer from Chicago wanting to just talk about "it".
One MAN's opinion

What is really absurd is to claim that you know NOTHING about someone, and then launch into a character bashing session about them. Matt needs to sit in the corner with the dunce cap I'm afraid...along with most of Hollywood.

No, I don't care what Matt Damon thinks about anything. I can't believe these "actors" and "musicians" who make an obscene amount of money think they know what's best for this country. They're the ones out of touch with the average American family and the real issues.

But, Barbara, how will we ever know what to think if the celebrities don't tell us? :) First Paris Hilton on energy and now this...

If that isn't a walking advertisment for education reform I don't know what is.

I want to make a disclosure--I am not big on politics. I dislike the whole idea of candidates making promises that they don't have the power to keep. I dislike mud-slinging contests because it reminds me of the kids in elementary school who were mean and picked on other kids because they didn't like themselves, so that needed to make everyone around feel less also. I am old-fashioned. I want to vote for someone who is a charismatic leader and whose views align closely with my own.
I have always kinda liked Matt Damon because he was "intelligent". I mean, he has the ability to be intelligent. But after that snippet, I really wonder...what does the belief in dinosaurs existing 4000 years ago have to do with holding the nuclear codes??? I mean, really...apples and oranges! The most intelligent argument he gave for not supporting Sarah Palin was that he didn't know enough about her.
So here's my challenge, Mr. Damon. Find out more about her. But stay away from mainstream media who seem to think that you are somehow representative of a great political thinker, or who are beating a strong woman role model for all the wrong things.
Do you want to know why I want to vote for McCain/Palin??? Because she was a hockey mom. The move from the PTA upward to the VP mansion is a large one and shows her intelligence, her drive, and her commitment. I want to vote for Sarah Palin because she has a teenage daughter who is pregnant. I want to vote for her because she is embracing that her daughter's baby has rights to life and is loved. I want to vote for her because she chose to have a baby that the masses of American society would have justified as a throw away.
And you know what, I am absolutely not a bit terrified that she will have nuclear codes in her hands. Clearly, she is calm, rational, and collected when she deals with high stress situations.
I hope that the Associated Press and others can come up with more credible interviews to support their political agenda in the future.

A celebrity being elitist? Never!

I saw this yesterday. I thought it made him look especially ignorant and completely out of touch with the real world.

Here we go again about experience. Ho hum. We all know that Sarah Palin has had EFFECTIVE executive experience and Obama has NOT. Dinosaurs and nuclear codes? How about innocent life and nuclear codes? Far more relevant to my thinking. The real experience issue is character. A person who has shown good character and choices thus far has the best experience to make the right choices in the future.

I was amazed that he stated he knew nothing about her and then went on to quote all sorts of misinformation. He really should have checked his facts. I'm very disappointed by the incredible number of people who hear rumors and then quote it like it's the truth before checking to see if it really is.
I really enjoy your blog.
