Financial crisis - Who is to blame?

For the past two days, I've been trying to formulate a simple description of what has led to our country's financial crisis. I wanted to put it in simple language because a lot of us are wandering through the cloud of media spin which is dedicated to protecting Democrats.

Believe me, if there were specific Republicans to blame - other than the ubiquitous and catchall "Bush did it" - we would have heard about it by now.

The fact is that the Bush administration - and most notably John McCain tried to rein in the crazy Ponzi scheme started and built by Democrats through Fannie Mae and mandates requiring lenders to offer "sub-prime" mortgages to get more minorites and disadvantaged people in homes.

It sounds like a good idea, doesn't it? But like all well-intentioned socialist-based programs, it doesn't work. Too much greed and corruption at the top. Too many people like Chris Dodds and Obama and associates profiting.

Do you really want to put this government in charge of health care? I mean, I'm dealing today with problems with my insurance company trying to limit the care my husband needs - paying people to say no rather than paying for medical benefits, always so ironic. And our family has lost our home to foreclosure - following a business failure/home refi which we naively based on the housing bubble we didn't believe would ever burst. Where I live, new McMansions on three acres that were starting at 950,000 are now priced in the low 500,000 - and not selling.

Am I crying? Not at all. You make bad decisions and you reap the consequences. Sometimes it's not your fault - as when our health care costs rise. But that's life. I can't believe how our government and culture have fostered the notion that we are supposed to look to them to take care of our EVERY need. As though government could take the place of God - oh, yeah, that sounds like socialism, doesn't it?

The problem is that government is made up of people and our system - which was designed to be governed by those who had other careers but would set them aside for a while to serve the people (as Palin has said: "a servant's heart") have become career politicians - like ships with the scum of corruption caked to their underbellies and cronies like Obama's corrupt buddies clinging like barnacles.

Obama talks a good talk with Change. But he is not about change at all. he is about more of the same When-Democrat-Policies-Fail-Blame-Republicans that will make theis an even bigger mess if people fall for it.

Franchelle sent me this. When I saw it, I was glad I waited to blog on this issue, because this will give you the story in a nutshell in 10 minutes.

Please take those ten minutes to understand what has happened so you will know what we need to do next. Please pass it on via blogs and email (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NU6fuFrdCJY )

And this ladies and gentlemen is why I can't go with the democrats. All attempts at creating a Eutopian Godless society have failed and will continue to fail.

As a Christian I want to be a good steward to what God gives me but I know that this is NOT home. Things will never be "fair" or "perfect" here. Sin made that impossible. All I can do is do my best and let God take care of the rest.

We lost our home to foreclosure, also, after my new job was downsized and I had to move the family in order to find another new job. We had a traditional mortgage, but could not sell the house. I enjoy your blog. Thanks for your honesty. God bless!

Someone emailed me this link this a.m., so watched it through to the bitter end. It seems credible, backed by facts.
Hard to vote Democrat after watching it.

The video has been pulled due to a "copyright claim by Warner Bros". Bummer. Any other ideas where we might find it?

Barbara,
The video has been taken down - Warner music cited copyright infringement. Let me guess who they support in this presidential race? So frustrating the way the media tries to keep the truth from us.
