I'm hosting a Palin Party - will you?

Just had a thought -

I've been too tired this week to stay up to watch the Hannity/Palin interview with Tripp. And this weekend is a flurry of cooking for extra people, taking care of Jonny, clearing out our old house, and battening down the hatches before Tripp's surgery Tuesday.

I have a hard time sitting still to watch TV during the day and in the evenings I'm way too busy/tired.

So I had this idea - why not invite any of my readers who happen to live near me over to watch it together?

So any fans of Sarah Palin who'd like to join me Thursday morning 9/25 for smoothies, coffee and whatever else we can scramble up - let's get together and watch the interview together.

I mean people have Tupperware/Silpada/whatever parties. For a political person like me, this sounds like so much more fun. And I'd finally get to meet some of you. I started blogging for a more intimate connection with my readers - maybe this is the next step.

I will open my house from 9-12, we'll watch the DVR'd interview at 10 and just hang out and get to know each other. Does that sound like fun?

If so, please email me to tell me you're coming. Bring any friends you'd like - kids too. Maybe we'll make this a weekly event leading up to the elections.

If you live too far to come to my house, let me suggest you have a Palin Party at yours. I'll even put a Mr. Linky here so you can let people in your area know you're doing the same thing. And if someone can whip up a poster design, I'll replace this rough draft with something fresh and interesting. This is evolving as I write :)

Maybe we'll start a movement! Invite anyone who isn't sure about Palin as long as they have open minds!

I'm a little bit too far afield to make it, although I think that is a great idea. I have watched it and think she did a great job. I won't more than that...so it's still "new" for you.

I am hosting 4 college students in my home next weekend for the Republican deployment in Denver. I look forward to the burst of excited energy in the house (although the students will only be here to sleep and grab a quick bowl of cereal before they are off to put in some really long hours for the Republican cause.)

I am excited about exposing my kids to the power of volunteerism, and that young people can make an important difference in the world.

Oh! I am so jealous! I want to come to the Palin interview party!! However, because I live in New Orleans, I cannot. Oh well...y'all have fun!!

I wish I could join you but I'd have to trek 1000 miles. Have fun. We don't have cable but I viewed it on foxnews.com. Inspiring and affirming.

Did the interview already air, or do I still have time to DVR it?

I so wish I lived close enough to come watch it at your house!

I'm in the beautiful hill country of TX...are you in the vicinity? Just kiddin'! Y'all have fun!!!

OH! I want to come!!!!!

But, a 6 hour drive away.

Great idea!

This is kind of funny because I just let my husband delete that DVR'ed interview because I don't think I'll ever get to watch it before it's eclipsed by something equally noteworthy. What a nice idea.

Barbara,
I am really hoping to make it and passed on your blog post to a group of my mom friends. I'm not overly vocal about politics but would love to come watch and visit with you some. Heck, make sure Tripp brought boxes because, whether it's just me or if I bring friends, we can unpack quickly!!
Sure hope my calendar is empty that day. Please pencil me in and I'll get back to you with a confirmation of how many. It'll be anywhere from 0-4!

Oh, I wish I could come! You're only about four hours away, but we have a lot of trips the next few weeks. I need to conserve gas money and the patience of our little ones.

Wished we lived closer!!!

it's not looking good. I'm glad I'm only penciled in. if no one signs up and you want to reschedule it for next week, that would be great. but, if it's just me you aren't going to have a fun time because I'd rather talk parenting and kids than presidents. I do like her and am voting for them but I'm not all that political. :)

I'd be there in a heartbeat if I could! I don't think you are in Michigan though.

Can I just come over and go to sleep in one of your beds? Ha!
Have fun and I wish I could make it but Austin's a tad far.
