Loudoun Ballet - Peter and the Wolf this weekend at Franklin Park

The Loudoun Ballet Company's performance of Peter and the Wolf is a playful introduction to ballet which features enchanting music, fairy tale fantasy, clever costumes, and exciting theatrical make-up. The 25-minute ballet is directed for children and the young at heart. The story is easy to follow and keeps the audience in suspense until the surprise ending.
Each of the 9 familiar characters is introduced by the sound of a musical instrument such as the Violin (Peter), Flute (the Bird), Oboe (the Duck), Clarinet (the Cat), French Horn (the Wolf), Bassoon (the Grandfather), and Kettle Drum (the Hunters). The musical themes continue to identify the characters throughout the performance while the recorded voice of Jack Lemmon narrates the story.
The Loudoun Ballet Company will once again present the this classic ballet September 27th & 28th, 2008 - each day at 1 and 3 pm.
