Media bias - could it get any worse?

I guess we shouldn't be surprised.

The left wing fringe and media have united in a search and destroy mission to take down Sarah Palin.

Democrats have sent a cadre of attorneys to fan out through Alaska to find any dirt they can on Alaska's Governor, who holds an 80-90% approval rating.

Did they ever send out ANYONE to find out ANYTHING about Obama? Did they look into his background as "community organizer" a la Saul Alinsky?

Were they interested in anything but defending his right to attend a church for 20 years where Pastor Jeremiah Wright bashed and cursed America?

And yet we're supposed to rally around the talking heads who want to dondemn Sarah Palin because she prayed for God's blessing over the troops in Iraq?

Again, I'm telling you: this will backfire bigtime. I predict this election will be a showdown between the elitism, posturing, patronizing, condescension of the Left vs the center of America uniting around a figure who just by being herself has brought out the worst in all of them.

I'm all for them keeping up the unprecedented feeding frenzy. It will be their downfall this year. And I predict it won't even be close.

I can't keep uo with every single thing, but I urge you from now until the election to pay close attention.

Media watchdogs you can rely on:

Laura Ingraham

Rush Limbaugh

Media Research Center

Drudge Report
~~~~~~~~
For anyone who's avoided Rush Limbaugh because of the bias you've grown up with, I challenge you to listen to him for a few days. You'll find him an optimistic, upbeat man dedicated to encouraging individuals in realizing their own potential, in not getting stuck in victimhood.
Sample from today (paraphrase) on rising above hopelessness:
Look at Sarah Palin. She got where she is today because she went to a PTA meeting to straighten out what was going on at her kids' school.
Do you know how many hundreds of thousands of Sarah Palins there are out there?
Give Rush a try.
I've listened to him since 1991 during the Clarence Thomas hearings, where the media sharks went after an intelligent, upright, accomplished individual public servant the same way they're now going after Palin. If you grew up with the anti-Thomas myth - how embarrassing when Obama singled him out as the Supreme Court Judge he deemed least worthy! - in light of how the media are behaving now, you may want to rethink everything you've heard.
And if you've trusted the media, you might want to join the ranks of those whose eyes have been opened to how biased and manipulative and contemptuous of the mainstream they are. They will never come as close to succeeding as they did in their attempts to destroy Clarence Thomas. We have the Internet now.
Love,
I've been reading reports that the Obama camp is running out of money. Let those lawyers trek across Alaska as long as they want...it's only going to drain the bank account faster.
I wonder how many Obama donors are rethinking writing more checks for all the trips to Alaska, when there are so many other fish to fry...like battleground states.
I can speak to media bias from first hand experience. I spent an hour in a round table discussion on Sarah Palin for GMA on ABC and thought I had expressed my views clearly. However the editing ended up with people stating that I was impressed with Gov.Palin because her daughter was pregnant and unmarried. Here's my response to that on ABC's website:
Please read my prior reply to the way my statement was edited. I in no way approve of teen pregnancy and clearly stated so in the discussion. What I do like about Palin is that her private family decisions (not resorting to abortion to "solve the problem" of Downs' Syndrome and now a teen pregnancy) are in accord with her public pro-life stance. I'm rather cynical about politicians' public statements and seeing congruence in her in this area has improved my opinion of her.As for my opinions on sex ed - I stated my opinion that before we have any hope of truly impacting teens in their sexual decisions we need to address the distorted image of sexuality in our country and the complete disconnect between the physical act and emotional aspects of it---along with the realities of teen parenthood and the mountains of difficulties that can bring with it. We're doing no service to our children by presenting birth control as a perfect solution or panacea to the realities of the life changing decisions our kids are making.
Great alternatives to the Main Stream Media (MSM). Have you checked out Michelle Malkin, Little Green Footballs or FreeRepublic.com?
Rarely do I rely on the MSM for my "news". I love the alternative sources available today. It is interesting to observe the impact the new media continues to have on the MSM.
Hi Barbara, you are my go-to person for up to date coverage in the presidential election. I had basically no interest in this election at all, even though I definitely planned on voting. Sarah Palin has changed all that for me. Thanks for keeping us all so informed. I first read you in an article that was published in American Life League's magazine. I liked it so much that I tore it out and still have it to this day. I think it was 2001. Have a great day!
I have found it interesting that before McCain chose his running mate many of my friends and myself felt a sort of hopelessness for America. But a few days after he chose Mrs.Palin we became hopeful for our country again. She is a straight talker and means business and doesnt back down. I like her and she gives me hope for my wonderful country.
I have to say, I've been enjoying reading selected articles on some of the liberal sites, like the Huffington Post and Slate. It's very enlightening to see how these people *really* feel about conservatives. I also am interested in the comments generated on Rod Dreher's and Michelle Malkin's sites. I mean, wow. Wow. The level if irrational hatred, scorn and condescension is nothing short of frightening. Talk about polarization. :)
I am a male but simply have the great "feeling" that our GOD gave us Sarah Palin to run with McCain at this crucial time in history. HOW can any Christian support "abortion" (the murdering of unborn children), and go worship (?) GOD in a church? Let's ALL pray for McCain & Palin in 08, and then have Sarah Palin as President in 8 years.
I LOVE that little gal almost as much as GOD does!
I saw your article about Palin in the CSM and I thought it was great. I'm so mad that they are trashing Palin for having children and having a career and also calling her "white trash". Today I read a comment by a democratic chair that said Palin's "primary qualification seems to be that she hasn’t had an abortion.” It's the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I feel that the more they trash her like this the more backlash the democrats will feel. I really hope that McCain/Palin win now. I used to not care as much since I'm not even an American citizen, but I am a young working woman living in the United States and I feel that Palin is someone I could identify with and look up to.
