Obama and Palin - a comparison

Even though they're running for different offices, the comparison is helpful since Gov. Palin is being attacked for not being ready to hold the office of Presidency.

Great comparison. I learned a few things.

So I give three cheers for Mc Cain's VP pick. I like Sarah Palin for several reasons. She is a good Christian woman who helped clear corruption out of Republican politics in Alaska. As a Christian, she will probably pray and look to God to help her run the country. Many people may find that scary, but God is likely to bless the country for it. We should be more scared of NOT having that practiced by the nations leaders.
I also like her pro-life stand. She lived this out by giving birth to a Down's Syndrome baby, even though she knew during the pregnancy that the baby had Down's Syndrome. This is a beautiful example of how our society should respond to the handicapped.
In a society that values human life less and less and where life is quickly becoming cheap, Sarah Palin's example is like a breath of fresh air.
Well. I don't know about her stand on the war. I might not be so thrilled with that. But the Bible says there will be wars and rumors of wars in the last days, whether I like it or not. (Many of those wars will be brought to us courtesy of the Islamic fundamentalists.)
Not only that, but I have my doubts that Obama is really the peace candidate that he pretends to be. Who knows what wars he would drag us into if he got into the White House? Maybe he would have an excuse to fight Israel. That would really bring God's wrath down on us. And Obama does have a history of being friendly with domestic terrorists (note that Weathermen guy). He also voted against the Born Alive Infants Protection Act, and in so doing, stood up in favor of infanticide. Thanks anyway, but no thanks, Mr. Obama, I don't want what you were selling that day.
Finally I have to say that I just get a good feeling about Sarah Palin. It is true that John Mc Cain's age makes me fear he won't survive a presidential term. But that isn't as scary as it used to be. Sarah will know what to do if that happens. She will take care of it.

Barbara, did you see last night's Bill Moyers Journal? It was all about the press and its treatment of the McCain/Palin side. I missed the first part, but the discussion brought up some really interesting points about how the press is perceived. I have generally been in agreement with your thoughts about the Palin-bashing, but the piece from Moyers brought up some points I was not aware of. If you get a chance, go to PBS.org and pull it up to play. Maybe you can play it while you do laundry, or cook since I assume you have a handy-dandy laptop! It's well done, and Bill Moyers always treats things carefully and doesn't speak out of turn. He chooses GOOD guests too. I hope you like it! Thanks for your blog, Barbara!

i like Obama as a person, and feel he did try to run a pretty clean, above board campaign.
The media, including liberal bloggers, have turned quite mean. I know Biden and Obama told them to leave the children alone, but I wish they would have gone further.
I wish both sides would state that they would work with the other, no matter who wins. Just think how much good could get done, if these people (including Romney, Huckabee, Clinton, etc.) would all attack even just the things they agree on together.
