Sandra Bernhard on Palin: hate speech
Palin Outrage of the Day (I hesitated about this one because it is intense and vile and you don't want your kids around, but I think it's important for EVERYONE - regardless of your political persuasion - to see how desperate and full of hatred the Left truly is. And how this garbage is is condoned by the media because it supports their guys and rashes their enemies:
For a discussion of the Washington media elite's positive response to this hate speech - Lord, Have Mercy! Can you imagine if anyone said anything so vile about Hillary or Barack? - see
Sandra Bernhard: Palin Would Be Gang-Raped By Blacks in Manhattan
I guess hate speech doesn't apply to liberals. But we knew that when they started legislating against it - that it would be a one-way street, just like their efforts to shut down talk radio because people use it to get a more balanced view of the biased news reporting we get from the MSM.
Folks, this is what the friends of Obama feel about our candidates. People who think they're very intelligent and hip pay money to hear this. It's good to see it out in the open.

I saw this over at HotAir. Simply disgusting and despicable. But it reminds me of what Jesus said over two thousand years ago in John 15:18-20 "If the world hates you, remember that it hated Me first. If you belonged to the world it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you."
Sarah Palin represents all that is good and right. She's a christian and these folk are rabid in their hatred and foaming at the mouth thus fulfilling exactly what Christ said would happen.
I read earlier today that the woman from Code Pink was saying that many women in NYC were seething in their hatred for Palin and her despair of Palin possibly becoming VP was bordering on suicidal. Unbelievable!!

Wow! I guess I know that they feel this way, but that is ridiculous. How sad that people feel they need to act like that in their opinion statements. I am for choice and opinion, it is what makes this country great, but wow, that just seems like a desperate, has been actress struggling to make money any way she can.

How wicked and vile. It's also so very sad because she looks so bitter. No joy, happiness, peace, or purpose--just hate. I guess I shouldn't be too shocked, but it is surprising that people would actually pay money to hear something so awful and something that really doesn't make a whole lot of sense. I have never seen such hatred and rage as has been directed at Sarah Palin these last few weeks. God help and strengthen her, and may God help this woman to find peace in Him.

Help! The link isn't working for me. Is it just me?

how disturbing. I could barely listen to the whole thing. And the part I don't understand is hearing the laughter in the background. If she and the audience are Obama supporters it makes me wonder a little more about the man they are trying to elect president. scary.

Absolutely vile. My lunch is not sitting too well now. I pray that all the negativity just helps out the McCain/Palin ticket.
Posted by: Margaret | September 19, 2008 2:38 PM
Yes, who has the extra cash to sit and see someone swear? Her audience is filled with equal haters I'm sure, but I guess they can't string the swear words as unintelligably as SB.
I'm waiting on the edge of my seat for the head-spinning, pea soup spewing finale to all this hatred.

Ok, I'm just trying to figure out if this is supposed to be funny. I honestly don't understand this. I mean, it just seems like a wild, crazy rant without even a smidgen of humor.
Sad.

I think this and the video about the professor you posted yesterday are both ridiculous and sad. In my opinion, it does nothing to help Barack Obama. However I hope that people don't think this is representative of the entire "left." Just as I try not to base my views of the "right" on mainstream media and actors, I hope that people on the opposing side can do the same. I wish we could all stop talking about "troopergate" and Sarah Palin's daughter Bristol and get to the actual issues. It seems silly to me that we are talking about such things when our economy is going through such terrible times. Let's hope when the debates happen we can talk about what is pertinent. Whether the MSM will let this happen...we'll see.

It is sad that her face became so ugly once she began talking. Hate makes you physically ugly.

My Grandmother always said, "Vulgarity is an attempt of the feeble mind to express itself."

Beyond evil. What a sick and wounded culture that people would pay to inhale that toxic poison ... on a related note, what's with the weird double standard? SB is almost choking in rage over Sarah Palin's updo while her hair is pinned up on her head, and the latest issue of People can't get enough of the 6 children of Jolie-Pitt, and features a glowing tribute to Willow Smith and her mother Jada Pinkett-Smith. I guess these things are only subject to derision and mockery if they belong to a conservative.

Ok- so I only listened to the first minute. YIKES. We need to keep Sarah in our prayers......and she will need extra secret service protection when she becomes vice president.
Did you see good morning america today with Jill Biden and Michelle Obama?? Very bias........

Cortney, I'm not following you. However I hope that people don't think this is representative of the entire "left." Just as I try not to base my views of the "right" on mainstream media and actors, I hope that people on the opposing side can do the same.
The mainstream media and actors are almost all "left."

I keep wondering would I think this was funny if I were liberal or a Democrat? Would I think it were funny if I were Jewish or Black? Would I be laughing if I were a victim of rape? What mind-set finds this at all funny?
The silent majority can no longer remain silent. We've stayed silent because we were made to feel that it was 'politically incorrect' to take a stand, so it's become okay to bash Christian values, it's perfectly fine to hate anyone who is pro-life, and this issue is not silly unless you are going to say that racist issues are silly, or anti-Semitic issues are silly, or anti-gay issues are silly. Christians deserve a voice too, we deserve to live side-by-side with every other American and we deserve the same rights that the liberals demand. I don't know about anyone else but I'm tired of being bashed for my Faith, I'm tired of being hated for love of country, I'm tired of being put down for supporting the military. And I think that is one of the reasons that Sarah Palin resonates with the masses, she finally gives us a voice, we finally feel accepted by someone, and we no longer feel like we have to hide.

I am a liberal and a democrat and I am outraged by this vile hateful filth. This in no way represents my or anyone I know's view. This so called artist is known for her mean spirited shows. I think it's her schtick to shock people because she isn't a very good comic or singer.
Posted by: kle | September 20, 2008 3:15 AM
Sadness......just truly sad that this is received well, anywhere, and that it is considered art.
Does anyone else realize that she isn't really saying anything? She's just spewing profanities at Governor Palin. Anyone can be vulgar, if they chose to do so.
Nothing intelligent from Sandra, but then, honestly, I've never heard her say anything that was intelligent or funny.
It's a little amazing that people would pay money to hear this.
Love Tressa's comment. Your grandmother was wise.

She's a hack and has never been funny.. and very ugly this evening also.. I wonder if she is a feminist?
Posted by: jacksimmons | September 21, 2008 2:15 AM
This woman's mouth is unbelievably out of control. Someone should set her out on the curb with the garbage she spews.

I support Obama but I do not support these vulgar attempts at "entertainment". He has no control over Sandra Bernhart and I wouldn't be suprised if he is unaware of this "entertainment" By supporting Obama I do not give my tacit approval to this trash.
I am a stay at home mom too. I love a little girl named Molly who has Downs. My BIL is serving his second tour in Iraq. I think we have a lot in common as mothers, whether we call ourselves Left, or Conservative. I call us all women, mothers who want the best for our children.
It would be so nice if we could work together on improving America for our children instead of labelling and stereotyping.

mitzi -
since we are both mothers of people with Down syndrome, I wonder how you felt about Tropical Thunder? http://mommylife.net/archives/2008/08/once_upon_a_tim.html
Usually it is the Left that supports this kinda stuff under the rubric "freedom of speech."
If you did indeed have a negative reaction to "Once upon a time there was a retard" and you encountered people who didn't understand your point of view, maybe you'll gain a different perspective on hate speech directed toward conservatives.
