Swinging on a Star

Maddy had dance class this morning and the Boyz and I had to go out in the deluge to pick her up.

Which reminds me: I love rain!!! Sophia says she's having a hard time at college because she's not used to using an umbrella. I guess I didn't emphasize that. I tend to enjoy being part of the weather.

So I started singing old songs in the BMW (Big Mama Wagon - a 12-passenger Ford Club Wagon, down from the 15-passenger we used to own), reminding myself to remind you all how much you can enrich your children's lives through exposure to all kinds of music - not just whatever you were brought up with or you like now. Like Maria Montessori, I believe you can give your child the world. Then they have lots of choices later on. Which is how we wound up with a soon-to-graduate opera singer in the family.

So I was singing things like Oh, Susannah and Hush, Little Baby - our family's signature lullaby when I remember Swinging on a Star. Do you know this one?

Checked it out on Youtube - my favorite is missing an embed code, but you can find it here.

Frank Sinatra - what a voice! -audio with graphics for kids

You can find hundreds of kids' songs - lyrics and audio -at Young and Young at Heart (your tax dollars at work: National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences).

Love,

Hi Barbara,

Thank you for visiting my blog! I'm sort of amazed that you can track who has posted your published articles. Do you just search for the same title?

I did read your personal story and several entries of your blog. Very inspiring. I have only been a Christian for 11 of my 42 years. I, too, am grateful everyday that Jesus is in my life.

I will keep visiting! Thanks again!

Bless you,

Pam

Oh I love this one! I sang it in Swing Choir in high school and it's stuck with me ever since!
