DENVER (AP) - Denver Roman Catholic Archbishop Charles Chaput labeled Barack Obama the "most committed" abortion-rights candidate from a major party in 35 years while accusing a Catholic Obama ally and other Democratic-friendly Catholic groups of doing a "disservice to the church." called Obama the "most committed" abortion-rights major-party presidential candidate since the landmark Roe v. Wade decision on abortion in 1973. . . . .

"To suggest--as some Catholics do--that Senator Obama is this year's 'real' pro-life candidate requires a peculiar kind of self-hypnosis, or moral confusion, or worse," Chaput said according to his prepared remarks, titled "Little Murders." (my emphasis)

Obama is not pro-life by any stretch of the imagination. He has said that he would want his daughters to have an abortion if they had an unexpected pregnancy. His daughters are not poor and uneducated. His daughters are from upper class stock, they will have the best education in the world, and have very involved parents. If they were to get pregnant there child wouldn't be destitute! There child would be just fine. They would hire a nanny and continue to go to school. There is no reason at all why they would "need" an abortion, and so there pro-life argument that abortion is a result of unmet needs is simply not the case here.

Obama wants his girls to abort an unwanted pregnancy because he doesn't believe that God is the author of life. He'd rather see his grandchild aborted than witness his daughter be a mother before career achievement. His comments about his daughter being "punished" by a baby is more telling than people realize.
