Mainstream media losing audience

Reported at Drudge an hour ago:
ELECTION REJECTION: NETWORK NEWS SLUMPS; VIEWERSHIP FADES Wed Oct 22 2008 07:25:40 ETThe Obama-McCain match-up is proving to be a lackluster election ticket for the Big 3 network news programs, according to NIELSEN MEDIA RESEARCH.
As the shouting from the trail and the frantic spinning from the anchor desks intensify, the audience is voting with their remotes.
All 3 evening news shows experienced audience drops year-to-year for the week of Oct. 13-19, 2008.
CBSNEWS w/ Couric shed a half a million viewers, falling from 6.4 million to 5.9 million; ABCNEWS dropped from 8.1 million to 7.6 million; NBCNEWS slumped from 8.2 million to 7.8 million.
Newspapers have already been dying off, as reported several months ago at NewspaperDeathWatch and Journ alistopia.

Glad to hear it.
In my house, we made our vote over a year ago by getting rid of the TV altogether. And we're happier for it.

No wonder they are losing viewers, who wants to watch them bash a good Christian woman like Sarah Palin every night? I hope they lose A LOT of money due to their one sided coverage of this Presidential election. Julie K.

Yes, but what will happen if Obama is elected and the Fairness Doctrine is put into effect? Will there still be the option of talk radio and blogs, or will the Main Stream media be all that is left? Maybe that is part of why they are so behind Obama.
