MommyLife: 3000+ entries
This entry is number 3012. This does not include the entries under Barbara's Picks (309) or Links (262).
To the left of my keyboard I keep a running list of stuff I want to blog about - in addition to trying to keep up with the many links and ideas you all send me - for which I am very grateful. In many ways this blog has become a cooperative effort and I often feel like an editor with a bunch of investigative reporters who provide me with leads.
I wake up every morning not knowing for sure what I will blog about. I open my email and my day begins. In between my family responsibilities I do what I have come to regard as a my REAL job. While I came to blogging in January2005 as a professional writer seeking a more immediate connection with my readers, over time I fell in love with both - blogging and my readers. I discovered that for someone who is a communicator, there truly is no better way to communicate: no gatekeepers, no time-delay, you-write-readers-read.
Simple. Direct. Effective. Rewarding. A communicator's dream.
But my plans to mark my 3000th entry - part of my to-write list - flew by in yesterday's flurry. Number 3000 was Joe Biden on Joe the Plumber. I would have wished for something more substantial, more significant, more signature Barbara.
But blogging is a lot like raising a family - a healthy mix of the trivial and the transcendent. Which I guess is why I like it so much :)

If I can continue balancing raising my family, living to tell about it, and blogging 'til the day I shuffle off this mortal coil, I shall die a happy woman......

Congratulation Barbara! I will say I am always going through your Amazon link when I make my purchases - which I seem to make a lot of ;) I always wonder though, if I've done it correctly so that you are in fact getting "credit". Are you able to see what people order? For instance, 5 minutes ago I ordered a pedometer for a friend and last Monday I ordered little snack-cups for my SIL and about 2 weeks ago I ordered a CD - see what I mean, I do A LOT of Amazon shopping! Hope it's helping :)
