Rush: Obama is depressing

I was off on a day trip with Jesse and Daniel yesterday, so didn't listen to Rush, but I LOVE how he summed up Obama's infomercial:

rushcollage.jpg

RUSH: What a depressing America this guy sees. Did you guys watch the commercial last night? You did? Well, I did. I did. I was in a good mood after I watched. I'll just share with you my notes and then we'll analyze this in greater detail. . . .

Obama really is a depressing man, and he sees a depressing country. He sees an America with nothing but victims. He's got a depressing family; he has depressing friends. His solutions are depressing. He's got depressing methods of running a campaign. He's got policies that are going to lead to an economic depression! The word that we need to associate with Barack Obama is depressed and depression. Clinton is so depressed out there, shilling for this socialist thug. He can't think of anything positive to say about him. Did you hear what Clinton said in Kissimmee, Florida? I defy you to tell me what he means here. Clinton's explanation of why Obama is qualified was interesting. Clinton said, (doing Clinton impression) "Look, if we've not learned anything, we have learned that we need a president that wants to understand, and who can understand." What does that mean? It means this guy knows nothing. It means this guy is an empty vessel. It means this guy is a risk. If we have not learned anything, we've learned that we need a president that wants to understand and who can understand? That's Clinton's attempt at saying nothing like Obama says nothing.

Read entire transcript here.

Which goes with what I've said: the Democrat party's success depends on stirring up dissatisfaction in the citizenry - convincing people that they're poor and struggling when they own cars and TVs and cell phones. When they eat fast food, rent movies and have their nails done.

This is not poor. I know because I grew up in a home where we didn't own a car or TV and where our refrigerator often had nothing in it but mustard and ketchup. Where we might eat oatmeal every night for a week until my mother got paid.

I am a conservative today because I believe through my own experience that with enough determination anyone in America can make it. And even though we face setbacks and misfortunes - our family has recently lost our home to foreclosure and are renting - it is idiotic to expect the government to fix things for us.

The more the government is involved, the more the chance for corruption and failure. Like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac.

I am a conservative because I am an optimist. I love my country. And I don't expect life to be comfortable all the time.

How have we created a whole substrata of people who feel so entitled and so bitter? Because people like Obama profit personally from perpetuating that misery.

Actually, there's a lot of stuff on Rush's main page this morning that you might like to read:

The Messiah and the Masses

Obama's Whiteness Returns

An informed electorate is an empowered electorate!

And I was so depressed this morning, Barbara...

But your post cheered me. You're right - life won't be comfortable all the time. Good words.

Thank you!
