Joy Behar: homeschool kids "demented"

Do people actually watch these wacko women? I'd say it's Joy Behar who's demented. To think she makes big bucks - and that people tune in - and that the audience laughs with gusto.

So much for tolerance. . . .

I stopped watching a few years ago (never really watched much anyway. I did turn it on every now and then leading up to the election...I enjoyed watching Elisabeth stand up to all of them. But i'm not suprised by anything they say...just a sample of the warped views of our society today.

Barbara - I rarely get bent out of shape enough to write to a tv show or such, but this really ticked me off. "Demented homeschoolers?" Any other group of people would be picketing! Lucky for them, most homeschooling moms are too busy (and too intelligent!) to be watching their show!

Not long ago she called Rush Limbaugh a terrorist. (I don't watch - I only saw a link to it on YouTube.) I was peeved and actually sent a letter to the network about that one. She doesn't have to like him...She can even express that dislike...But to compare him with men (and women) who murder others?!?! After that, I've just assumed I won't appreciate much of anything that comes out of Ms. Behar's mouth.

I suspect she has a lot more people praying for her now than ever before, though!

"But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you..." Matthew 5:44

Just the manner in which she made those statements makes her sound uninformed and biased. It's interesting that she was so insulting considering Whoopi is always on the lists of famous people who were homeschooled. But maybe Joy doesn't know that. ;)

That is one show that I REALLY can't watch. Gets my blood boiling every time. I also never like that they're always talking over each other. As if I need more chaos and noise in my life!

Isn't it nice when poeple who do not have any knowledge of something speak as if they do.

I knew I was going to be sorry if I watched that clip.
Just goes to show that a little ignorance goes a long way in Hollywood. Things are a bit different in my neighborhood.
My demented children and I went to Mass this morning, where my son served at the altar. We came home and they took their spelling tests, did their Math and Reading and went out to play in the falling snow together. They are good friends. Next week we are taking a long break for Thanksgiving, to go and be with family, and to thank God for our many Blessings, because we can. The week after that we are getting together with families from our Homeschool group to celebrate St Nicholas feast day, because we can. We are blest to be able to live this lifestyle, not everyone is able to.
I feel sorry for people who have such a limited scope of experience that they can't be charitable to anyone outside of the narrow mainstream.
We are called to be a sign of contradiction, and so we are.

I think Ms. Behar either knows some "demented" (did she really say that?) homeschoolers, and is stereotyping the bunch of us (I'm sure not though, because we all know this is not politically correct), or she knows nothing and is embarrassing herself (again).

Can you guess which one I think it is?

I have never liked this show or any of the attack dog females like Joy. I'm glad Elizabeth is strong enough to present another "view". But no one (on the show) ever listens to her ! And Joy is so dismissive and superior acting. Who is she anyway ? This show is so unbalanced and they spread misinformation and blatant lies . . .
This kind of thing worries me as Obama is getting ready to "lead" our country. I don't like the stereotypes being paraded around concerning homeschooled kids, their parents or any conservative Christian. I'm worried about not being able to homeschool my son (he's 3 now) and anytime I tell someone I'm planning to homeschool they look concerned and start telling me about all the oportunities my child will miss out on and they hope I'll change my mind. I want to be able to choose what's best for my son. I don't want the state deciding that for me . . . maybe I got off course here but I'm truly afraid.
Does anyone know what the Obama administration has to say about homeschooling. Is this a right that can be taken away by the president ?
I know that the bible says that God doesn't give us a spirit of fear but of love and power and a sound mind. But I am so fearful, many days I am overcome with fear. How can I get rid of this fear and have the love and power and sound mind the bible talks about ?

Barbara, How do we get you a guest appearance on The View to set them straight? Yesterday or the day before, Joy called our lovely Sarah P an airhead. I was fuming!! Thank goodness for Elizabeth...

Ms. Behar used to be a public school teacher. Just another reason to homeschool.

Isn't it a shame that she never learned to live up to her name? I have noticed through clips (I do not watch this show!) that her anger exposes her heart. She is clearly threatened by certain women and the wholesome values they represent. I don't think she realizes how she discloses herself. It is bizarre to watch the public accept someone saying essentially, "the sky is purple".

1 Corinthians 2:14 comes to mind, "But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned." Also, lately I've been clinging to Psalm 37:1-2, "Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious of the workers of iniquity. For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb."

Sigh...

I wonder if she has considered...

Knocking someone's chosen method of learning is knocking someone's CHOICE.

Knocking someone else's homeschooling lifestyle is bigotry.

It's rather telling that Whoopi didn't speak up about her homeschool experience. Kind of looks like 'wesupportJoynomatterhowwrongsheis, aslongaswedon'tletHasselbackmakealegitimatepoint'

It could have even been a funny exchange:
Whoopi: Wait a minute here. *I* was homeschooled.
Joy: Well, see, I rest my case!
All: Hilarious laughter at such clever wit.
