Michelle Obama on Barak

michelleo.jpgYesterday in Columbus, Ohio:

"He thinks he can really do anything -- he does. With his own power and will, he can fix it," she said, praising Obama for creating "one of the most powerful political organizations" in history, and for the other virtues of his campaign.

With his own power and will he can fix anything?

And boasting about creating one of the most powerful political organizations in history certainly strikes an odd note. (Was she referring to ACORN?) When I think of leaders with powerful political organizations, I think of Stalin, Mao, and Hitler.

Those were all leftist leaders, you know. Leaders how couldn't tolerate a free press (like Obama blackballing stations that ask tough questions or reporters working for papers which had editorially endorsed McCain). Leaders who persecuted private citizens who didn't show the required obeisance (Joe the Plumber). Leaders who evoked such fervor in their followers that they created/transposed worship songs, replacing God with The One's name. Leaders who replaced traditional patriotic trappings with their own iconic images. Leaders eager to institute a civilian national security force. Leaders who thrived on the brainwashing of children and other cultlike behaviors. Leaders who didn't want to waste time with the legislative process but felt entitled to enact edicts with the flick of a pen.

Such dangerous territory ahead. And the sad part is that most people don't really understand the issues. They're voting for a dream.

An informed electorate is an empowered electorate!
