Please pray for Tripp - again

Tripp has been making a good recovery. You could see from the picture for the movie drawing that he looks really rested and healthy.

Friday he returned to work for the first time since 9/22 - just for a couple hours. He said his doctor okayed it. Then went back yesterday, but his knee turned bright pink and tender, so we are worried about the infection creeping back up.

He has been under the most rigorous care at home. Hi has a Pic line and the heaviest antibiotic which they deliver weekly for our refrigerator and which he administers to himself each day. He is tended by two visiting nurses - one for the Pic line and to draw blood for lab work weekly and one for the wound, which has appeared to be healing well.

If we can't lick this infection once and for all, the surgeon will have to remove the knee replacement and put in some supports (unbending) to keep the space in his knee while they continue to bathe his knee with antibiotics. The surgeon says the MRSA infection clings to metal.

Our original plan was that he would be back on his feet much sooner than this. Tripp is the breadwinner and he works on commission so when he can't cme to work, he can't produce. Although he did sell two commercial trucks from his laptop last week. Thank you, God!

Please pray for Tripp and for our family. He is such a supportive and involved dad that it has been hard to see him weakened and unable to do all he would like to be doing. We just keep focussed on how wonderful it will be when this is behind us and he can finally go to the Smithsonian and the art museums with us.

He called the doctor and went to see him on the way home yesterday. He's supposed to go back this morning - by then the doctor will have the current lab results. Of course, I'm saying he pushed it, going back to work too early, even if it's just a few hours. He says the doctor says that isn't the problem.

But we need prayer - we really do.

Love,

MRSA is very serious. A few years ago, we met a man who lost his lower leg to it, after minor surgery.
My aunt got an infection in her leg, after getting a cut from stomping on a cardboard box to compress it, that almost cost her life.
Antibiotics are not as effective as they used to be.
Will pray for Tripp.

www.staphwash.com Barbara we can help.
Yes I pray ever nigh for all the people in the world who suffer from staph infections. Knowing I have a product that kills the bacteria on contact.
That leaves me with a heavy heart.

Barbara,

I've been praying, am praying, and will continue to pray.

Obviously it is my prayer that no further surgery is necessary. However, it is it, I would urge you to consider a different hospital - one that deals in high risk orthopedics.

By no means am I telling you what to do; I'm speaking from the point of view of a patient who accepted less than quality of care needed for a long time and suffered as a result.

Peace,
Anna
