Thanksgiving cards - make your own!

Why not Thanksgiving cards this year? Our family has sometimes sent them instead of Christmas cards.
This year Dayspring and Leanin' Tree are the only affordable boxed Thanksgiving cards I found online.
But you could ask one of your children to design a Thanksgiving card, make your own greeting (a Bible verse about thanks?), print and send them to family and friends. If you're going to go this route and live where some trees still have color, get out there now against a beautiful natural background and have a friend take a family portrait - or learn to use your automatic timer like I did a few years ago :) - then you can enclose a family photo.
I know not everyone sends cards anymore, but if you are in the habit, the advantage is that you'll have one thing less to worry about at Christmas, plus your card will be nice surprise and won't get lost in the Christmas shuffle.

Barbara, one further idea may be to buy a selection of antique cards (by antique, I mean turn of the last century!), and c/p them, print them onto card stock...make them as post cards, even, and then a stamp, a brief message on the back, address, and whamo! A certainly unique card, without too much fuss and bother (antique cards can be found in good condition for less than $5 on various auction websites...)
Hth in the future!

Found another resource for Thanksgiving cards! Check out Small Meadow Press--go to the shop tab, then to Glad Holidays...click on "Autumn"..they have 'bundles'...very nice cards, made by a WAHM...
Always nice to support a cottage industry!
