Gift idea - architectural blocks for kids

I saw this on a catalog cover (I never open them these days) - and wished they'd had this around when I had enough young children around to splurge on something like this for The One Big Family Christmas Gift.

Carried by such dependable classic catalogs as Hearthsong and Back to Basics - which have the same agenda I do, of recommending classic toys which engage the imagination and hold children's interest for many years, I thought this was worth bringing to your attention.

And it's cheapest at Amazon:

Barbara, I ordered my husband a Kindle from amazon but forgot to go through your site! I really want you to get commission because it's such a large purchase. Is there any way I can credit you after the fact?

I hope so!

I like those blocks. I'd seen the middle eastern ones in a different catalog and noted those for my three-year-old. Being Orthodox, I thought he could build churches out of them. :)

Thanks for posting these!

These blocks are amazingly cool. I had my own daycare business for two years and everyone - ages 1 - 9, loved the blocks.

Classic toys never, ever lose their appeal. We have kept only four big toys from my oldest's toddlerhood - Duplos, his wooden railroad set, a cool Fisher-Price castle, and ALL of our wooden blocks.
