    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool
  • A Chair for My Mother
    A Chair for My Mother
A remarkably beautiful story told by a young girl whose mother is a waitress. Since they lost all their furniture in a fire, they've been saving mother’s tips in a jar – so they can buy a big comfortable chair for their whole family to enjoy – daughter, mother and grandmother. Life has its ups and downs, but there’s always lots of love. Ages 4-7

Be back soon

IMG_2543-1.JPG

I am home for less than 24 hours following Maddy's and my trip to DC for the Blogs4Life conference and 2009 March for Life - as well as American Life League's Rock for Life conference, where I finally met Letitia Velaquez, received the 2009 Best Overall Pro-Life Blog award.

IMG_2535.JPGAnd heard several very inspiring speakers, including Alan Keyes - all of whom I plan to write about next week - including some inspirational messages of hope and change - the kind of change we might see when we persuade our culture to embrace life rather than death.

Home to do laundry, post my 2009 March for Life photo album, pull something out of the freezer and try to leave the house in decent shape so Tripp (still on crutches and not comfortable enough to travel - surgery scheduled 2/10) can hold down the fort until Sunday afternoon.

Matt, Jonny, Maddy, Jesse and I are going down to Liberty University to see Ben, Zach and Sophia. Ben will be appearing as Papageno in The Magic Flute tonight. Sophia is working backstage. It will be a late night as we will be going out to dinner afterward. Then Mass and breakfast tomorrow morning - and a long drive home.

Will be back to work writing Monday morning - so much to say, but it will all have to wait until then.

Love,

Enjoy Papageno. :-)
We've heard it on a CD of opera songs for children. Funny.

"Mmm mmm mmm mmmm, mmm mmm mmmm, mmm mmm mmmm, mmmm, mmm." My favorite part of the opera (and that's saying something since I've sung 'O zittre nicht'!)

I love Alan Keyes. Not only did I vote for him but I lived next to him and babysat his kids once when I was a senior in HS.
