    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Our MommyLife Diet Group is going strong with 102 members. Some write a lot, some just lurk. We have amounts of weight from 10 to over 100 pounds to lose and we are on different diets, though many are doing the Fat Flush or FF Fast Track Detox. Most of us began January 5 or thereabouts - but people are joining in all the time. If you would like an invitation, please email me.

Margaret Park - who just started her own blog - is a registered dietitian who is giving us tips (like Winter Fitness) and pointers and answering specific questions - all volunteer. She is a great asset to the group.

We decided to do a tally on the 15th of each month: those interested in reporting their weight loss (not required) could do so and the total for that group would be tallied. On January 15, 21 women reported in losing a total of 152.4 pounds - or 7.26 per person.

So the group is definitely helping.

Leslie sent us a link to another resource:

Losing Weight for Good - a Focus on the Family broadcast January 12:

ChantelHobbs2.jpgChantel Hobbs, author of Never Say Diet: Make Five Decisions and Break the Fat Habit for Good , talks about the five decisions she made which helped her lose more than 200 pounds and achieve a healthy lifestyle.

200 pounds!! This woman is probably worth listening to:

Getting support from fellow dieters, family members, friends and colleagues is an important part of any weight loss regimen.

Knowing there's someone cheering you on and providing you with emotional support when the weight loss going gets tough is oftentimes enough to keep you going.

And I have two words for you guys: "Great job!"

I would like to join your weight loss group. I have been praying for Godly help. I have a good friend also praying with me on this. I have at least 100 lbs to loose and do think it is mostly a spiritual issue. I do have some health problems but truely believe it stems from sin in my life. Thank you
