IOUSA - explaining the national debt

In August, I was invited to the premier of the scariest movie ever - about our national economy. Sounds boring, doesn't it? But for this everyday mom - with only a beginning understanding of economics, the information and presentation was so compelling and so well presented, that I would not hesitate recommending this to anyone, including high school students.

Tripp and I, after a valiant but unsuccessful attempt to downsize by selling our house, had finally given it up and moved to a rental. I have found the process of coming to grips with my own overspending very humbling and spiritually cleansing.

But I was left with this hopeless feeling: what can we do with an out-of-control government?

Who knew that within weeks our country would begin the economic collapse which could in the end lead to the end of life in America as we've known it. Now this movie is more relevant than ever. And in addition to the full length move, you can pick up a 30-minute trailer updated to include our current financial crisis.

While the makes of this video have their own bias - including moments of the ever popular Bush-bashing (always reminds me of the "cool" kids in high school, who build themselves up by putting others down) - there is information here which will help you wrap your mind around exactly how bad things really are:
