Moms In Touch - Blue Ridge Middle School

Have you heard of Moms in Touch?

momsintouch.gifMoms In Touch International is:

* Two or more moms who met regularly to pray for their children, their schools, their teachers and administrators.
* Mothers, grandmothers or anyone who is willing to pray for a specific child and school.
* Moms who believe that prayer makes a difference.

My friends Ann and Polly just wrote to alert me to a new group praying for Blue Ridge Middle School.

I am writing to let you know that a new Moms in Touch group will be forming at the beginning of 2009 for Blue Ridge Middle School/Harmony Intermediate. What a GREAT way to bring in the new year!

This is addressed to a short list of women we have spoken to about MIT or whom we thought might be interested. If you know of any middle and intermediate school moms who would like to join in prayer on Thursday mornings from 8:45-until 9:30 or so at Salvation Shoppe in Purcellville, please e-mail Polly Nagell or Ann Stewart. For any of you leading Bible studies in the area, if you could let your members know, that'd be great. We'll probably begin January 8, we will send further information as more details come out. In the meantime you may see a notice or two in your church bulletin as we get the word out. If you'd rather not receive any further e-mailings regarding the details, just let us know :)

I feel so much better after I have covered my children and their schools in prayer. You don't have to come every week, there's no minimum commitment level --- it's just an opportunity and a privilege. The Salvation Shoppe is a warm and cozy place to meet and begin your day in prayer --perhaps after putting your child on the bus or dropping him/her off at school.

Desiring time with Him,

Polly and Ann

"I love the Lord because He hears my prayers and answers them. Because He bends down and listens, I will pray as long as I breathe!" (Psalm 116:1-2 TLB)

While they've taken prayer out of school, so far they haven't figured out how to stop prayer on behalf of schools :)

There are Moms in Touch groups all over - to find out if your child's school has one, go to the Group Locator.

Barbara,

Thanks for posting about MIT. I'm involved in the MIT group at my son's public charter school. It is an amazing group and the moms are so dedicated to the school and to the kids. When my husband and I were trying to decide if the public school was the right place for our son, it meant a great deal to me to know that moms were praying for the kids, teachers and staff.

Thanks for letting more people know about this organization!

That's great! I went to Blue Ridge Middle School in 7th and 8th grade!!!! I loved it there and have such fond memories of the farm we lived on in Hamilton.

Barbara,

Thanks for spreading the word. I've participated in a MIT group when our boys were in public school, and now coordinate a homeschool group.

What a huge blessing to me and my family!

Honestly, I would encourage every mom - if there is no group in your school/area, START ONE. It takes no special training or skills, just a heart committed to pray for your children.

What better use of our time could we have than praying for our children?
