Pelosi: more birth control will help the economy

PELOSI SAYS BIRTH CONTROL WILL HELP ECONOMY Sun Jan 25 2009 22:13:43 ET

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi boldly defended a move to add birth control funding to the new economic "stimulus" package, claiming "contraception will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government."

Pelosi, the mother of 5 children and 6 grandchildren, who once said, "Nothing in my life will ever, ever compare to being a mom," seemed to imply babies are somehow a burden on the treasury.

The revelation came during an exchange Sunday morning on ABC's THIS WEEK.

STEPHANOPOULOS: Hundreds of millions of dollars to expand family planning services. How is that stimulus?

PELOSI: Well, the family planning services reduce cost. They reduce cost. The states are in terrible fiscal budget crises now and part of what we do for children's health, education and some of those elements are to help the states meet their financial needs. One of those - one of the initiatives you mentioned, the contraception, will reduce costs to the states and to the federal government.

STEPHANOPOULOS: So no apologies for that?

PELOSI: No apologies. No. we have to deal with the consequences of the downturn in our economy.

Words fail me. This is a lie straight from the pit of hell - that human beings are only consumers - inconvenient, costly and unecessary.

I know she's awfully busy spending, but who does she think creates the wealth in this country?

Does Madame Speaker not understand that human beings are producers/workers/creators/builders? Does she not understand that we are already missing 1/3 of the younger generations due to the self-centered thinking of people like her?

And then there's the elitism - Madame Pelosi lives on a wealthy hill in San Francisco and has five children and seven grandchildren herself. She has demanded extra protection and a private jet to travel to and from her career post in DC.

But as in socialist countries which claim to be for the common man, she would be part of a ruling elite that could afford to do eat, drink, educate, transport and clothe themselves whatever way they wish while subjecting the rest of us to shoddy bureaucratic-laden government enterprises.

And the burden on the population left after it is decimated by these population-control demagogues will be incredible.

Memo to Madame Pelosi: Study what is happening in Europe, with countries now below replacement level. Who do you think is going to pay for all your spending promises 20 years down the road?

I am both embarrassed for and ashamed of this woman. Besides her obvious ignorance about falling birth rates and their effect on the economy, her blatant disregard for Catholic teaching is scandalous!

At this point, I find Nancy Pelosi to be more frightening that Obama. Lord, have mercy.

I was totally shocked. I know the woman was....confused.... but this has made quite clear where her allegiances are. Pray for her soul.

What she really means is that she wants to get those poor ghetto people to stop having babies. Nice middle/upper class folks like herself that can "afford" children are just fine.

Um..I can't really say what I'm thinking..because it's *very* unkind and intolerant. Seriously. What an idiot.
I had put up two posts on my blog about my feelings on abortion and Obama's reversal of the Mexico City Policy. Professed Christians jumped on me.
"That's not the answer" they say.
*sigh*
My pregnancy hormones are raging lately...
I'm afraid for our country. Lord, have mercy.

Wait until she asks the elderly and infirm to "give up the ghost" in an effort to free up some health care cash. You know, it's good for the economy 'n' all.

I like how she demonstrates that children are really a privileged of the elite.

I wonder if all this contraception will end up at the PP offices in urban areas, where the majority of the population is black. That's where PP likes to locate their services more densely. There and foreign countries with higher black populations.

Are we not supposed to notice that? Probably not the polite thing to notice in this administration.

Um...afraid I might say something unchristian here..If you know what I mean....

Shesh...If I want more kids, I better jump on the bandwagon and join the Japanese movement before my large family becomes illegal...Or adoption becomes illegal because I'm a homeschooler.

*Sigh*

What Nancy Pelosi is saying in a convoluted fashion is that those who cannot take care of their children should not have them. We spend a lot of money on children whose family cannot support them. That alone would not be a problem as supporting a family is something most of us would like to do. Many people are just not able or not willing to take care of children. Not just those who are poor in money, but any who are poor in those values and work ethic to raise children. The damages done in those situation is tremendous in terms of what happens to those children. Our prisons are filled with such children who grew into adults without the right care.

Family planning would go a long way helping this problem. So would more encouragement and incentive for those who can't care for or don't want their babies to give them up for adoption. Right now our society has such a strong taboo against giving up ones child, that mothers who would have been so much better off giving their children to those able and willing to care for them, refuse to do so.

This administration has promised to loosen abortion laws so that women can get abortion on demand. Those who don't agree with this stance are vigorously protesting, which what should be done in this case. I think working on other avenues such as encouraging adoption, making it socially acceptable, even commendable would make a big difference. It is sad that woman in this country will get understanding and support for aborting a handicapped fetus, but will get horrified reaction is she chose to continue the pregnancy and give up that child for adoption. This is especially so for married women who appear to be able to raise such a child but for personal reasons do not want to do so, maybe cannot do so well.

Does she ever think about how many costs could be reduced by better border protection?!?! They could put in solar powered air conditioning units to keep the guard towers cooler, creating some of those sacred green color jobs at the same time.

That's all I can say for now anything else might not be nice.

Lord, have mercy.
satan is a murderer, liar, and a thief, and this has his vile fingerprints all over it. "Ditto" to Lucy, Amie and Kelly.

I've been agitated all day today after hearing Ms. Pelosi. I am baffled by what comes out of this woman, this leader's mouth. Baffled. She obviously does not study history, even study our contemporary societies, like Europe and China where they are paying the price severe birth control requirements.

I told my husband it just makes me want to get pregnant!
