American Idol - my picks: Adam, Megan, Allison
Last night's American Idol was horrendous. What in the world is going on? During the lead-up auditions and Hollywood, it seemed like there was a lot of talent heading into the new season.
Last week there were only three or four performances that even seemed worthy of being on the show. And this week, only one - the last guy, the one with the musical theater background and powerhouse voice. Tackling the Rolling Stones' "Satisfaction" takes a lot of chutzpah. Usually contestants who choose iconic songs - so closely identified with the original artist - pale by comparison, but Adam Lamberth pulled it off.
My picks: Adam, Megan, Allison.

Though Adam started weak in his "Satisfaction" rendition and made me uncomfortable at first. Still, in this group, he was a stand out, so he'll probably move to the next level. I agree with your assessment about this week and would make the same prediction. I was off by one, with the previous group.
Wish there were more kids with musical theatre background on the show. I think their training really shows with those belting voices and charisma.
[on this we can agree]

I agree with two of your choices (Adam and Allyson). The other I'm not decided yet who was best. However I disagree there was only one star quality last night. Adam is unbelievable but the Allyson is nothing short of fantastic and a couple other girl singers are excellent.
No shortage of talent in this bunch in season 8.

I was disappointed as well. I think that there is talent there, it's just they picked horrible songs!
I hope next week is better.
