Gregg withdraws from Commerce over Stimulus Plan
Ouch!! Again!
OBAMA BURNED: GREGG WITHDRAWS AFTER POLICIES TOO MUCH TO STOMACH Thu Feb 12 2009 16:18:14 ET Senator Gregg Statement on His Withdrawal for Consideration of U.S. Commerce Secretary
Sen. Gregg stated, "I want to thank the President for nominating me to serve in his Cabinet as Secretary of Commerce. This was a great honor, and I had felt that I could bring some views and ideas that would assist him in governing during this difficult time. The census, I'm sure. That is a huge power play that was done to take the census into the White House. I don't blame Gregg for resigning. I had just said he should have made a bigger deal of this and I could not believe he took that position given what was being stripped of it.
Scary that a lot of our congressmen do not read actual documents but rely on summaries. The story I'm hearing here is that Gregg did not know about the census move until the news media started reporting this.

I really appreciated the grace, kindness and professionalism behind Gregg's withdrawal and his statement to the press.
Compared to the Obama Administration's statement, I feel even stronger about my admiration for Gregg's well placed words - I can't understand how others don't see the maliciousness and deception (not to mention juvenile behavior and the condescending way the "middle class" is spoken to) behind Obama and his administration.
