    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

    A Chair for My Mother
A remarkably beautiful story told by a young girl whose mother is a waitress. Since they lost all their furniture in a fire, they've been saving mother’s tips in a jar – so they can buy a big comfortable chair for their whole family to enjoy – daughter, mother and grandmother. Life has its ups and downs, but there’s always lots of love. Ages 4-7

Montessori at home - getting started

Kostbade 2.JPGI know I've been hitting hard on politics - and how I wish we could just let the government do its thing so we could pay 100% of our attention to mother here and now. But you all know how I feel about The Hand That Rocks the Cradle and our responsibility to be informed for the sake of our children's future.

But there are lots of new readers here, and so I want to remind you of what MommyLife is all about: unburdening, enlightening and empowering parents to make the most of their children's God-given potentials - while allowing Him to do His work in us too!

My training as a Montessori teacher - (Note: Montessori is not a trademarked name and there are many different branches; I was trained at AMI, which is the only direct line from Maria Montessori) - plus 10 years of homeschooling and raising 12 children through two generations has given me a unique perspective and hands-on experience. In addition, since I am old enough to be a grandmother (12 grandchildren so far!) but still have 5 children under 16 at home (two by birth, three by adoption), I am still living the life of a mother while dispensing wisdom in the form of whatever I have learned through all the pieces God has provided in my life.

Twice a year, I sell my books at sale prices - though since I pay $7 apiece for my books, you can may get a better deal at Amazon. March will be the month.

In the meantime, there is a wealth of FREE information here at MommyLife to get you off to a good start, or to re energize you when you need it. You can tons of ideas by clicking on Categories above, then Montessori, Preschoolers, or Homeschooling.
