Welcome Father Escalante!

We have a new administrator at St. Francis de Sales. While it hurt to say goodbye to Father Kelly, we are grateful to Bishop Loverde for sending us someone so quickly.  It would appear that Father Escalante has a sense of humor to rival our late pastor's:

Effective Wednesday, February 18, 2009,Bishop Loverde has appointed Rev. Ronald S. Escalante  Parochial Administrator at the church of St. Francis de Sales. Father Escalante comes to us from Saint Luke's in McLean, where he was Parochial Vicar.

Father tells us that we have all been in his prayers, especially this past week and he is "very anxious and excited to 'officially' start working at Saint  Francis de Sales". He will be preaching at all of the Masses on the weekend of February 21 and 22, so give him a warm welcome to our parish. And be sure to ask him why he is known as "the Magic Padre"!

"I'll be in Purcellville as fast as I can!!"
In his first homily on Sunday, Fr. Escalante explained that the car was not his, but loaned for the photo by someone at his previous assignment - St. Luke's in McLean, VA.  Like Fr. Kelly, he also has an unusual hobby - magic tricks - so we will be looking forward to seeing them.

Or is that not okay during Lent?  :)

Welcome, Father Escalante!

Love,

My parents are parishioners at St. Luke's, and Fr. Escalante was my dad's favorite priest of all time. I haven't had the chance to meet him yet, but I'm sure your parish will love him, especially during this difficult time. He's definitely going to be missed around here!
