    The Little Red Hen
Hooray for a good work ethic! The little red hen asks but receives no help in her efforts to put bread on the table. Yet all who wouldn't help would like to eat. In a refreshingly old-fashioned triumph of moral consequences, they don't get to!
  • Noisy Nora
    Noisy Nora
Poor Nora! The loveable mousette experiences all the pangs of the child-in-the- middle, caught between the demands of baby brother and bossiness of big sister. Catchy meter, playful illustrations make for a wonderfully satisfying mouse's tale. Baby-Preschool

Boys will be boys forever on Green Machines!

Here's how we celebrated yesterday - the combination of balmy spring like weather plus the extra evening hour from Daylight-Savings. Proving boys never grow up:

This all happened after Sam and Kip (my oldest daughter and son-in-law) and their six children had left following dinner and Patrick's birthday cake. Missing are Ben and Sophia, who are on concert tour right now over Spring Break. Riders include Josh (25), Matt (23). Zach (21), Jonny (almost 17), Maddy (almost 16), and Justin (8). Onlookers included me, Tripp, Hattie, Jesse and Daniel.

What are those big guys riding on? They're called Green Machines. I researched long and hard before I invested in them a few years ago. They're rated up to 120 pounds, though Josh probably weighs 180. I bought mine from Amazon - if you're thinking about them, read the customer reviews:

Justin is riding on a Radio Flyer Big Flyer - again, something i researched before buying from Amazon:

Hi Barbara,

We miss your family here in Sonoma County. Another great ride on toy for when the boys get bigger is the Triton and Triton Pro. We purchased one for Justin last Xmas. He loves it and we can all ride it. It is also on Amazon.
Love, Nannet

Those look like lots of fun!
Wonder if they would work on tightly packed gravel?

Ditto Nannet.....Seeing the boys on those bikes brought back memories of living next door to the Curtis family. Our family misses them too!

I LOVED this! Boys are a blast!
I have three of them and I just love to see your "big guys" being boys and think about how nice it is that you have such a close family. What a Blessing!
