Holder disarms pilots, releases Guantanamo prisoners in US

Guantanamo Detainees May Be Released in U.S.


WASHINGTON -- Attorney General Eric Holder said some detainees being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, may end up being released in the U.S. as the Obama administration works with foreign allies to resettle some of the prisoners.

Mr. Holder, in a briefing with reporters, said administration officials are still reviewing individual cases of the approximately 250 detainees to determine which will be put on trial and which may be released to comply with plans to close the detention facility by next year.

Read entire article here - and check the comments for some reassurance that at least the entire USA has not lost its mind, but of course these are Wall Street Journal readers, not the Obamapods roaming door-to-door to get their neighbors to drink the koolaid take the pledge.

In the meantime, while releasing terrorists into the general population, we are disarming pilots, who since 9/11 have been allowed to carry guns in the cockpit after taking the federal safety program.

EDITORIAL: Guns on a plane

After the September 11 attacks, commercial airline pilots were allowed to carry guns if they completed a federal-safety program. No longer would unarmed pilots be defenseless as remorseless hijackers seized control of aircraft and rammed them into buildings.

Now President Obama is quietly ending the federal firearms program, risking public safety on airlines in the name of an anti-gun ideology.

The Obama administration this past week diverted some $2 million from the pilot training program to hire more supervisory staff, who will engage in field inspections of pilots.
