Mommy Manual - new copies at Amazon for 1.90
I'll tell you, it hurts as an author to have a book company give you a contract to publish a book you have written, give you less than $1 for every book they sell at 12.99, charge you 6.50/copy, decide to stop carrying your book for no apparent reason with no warning, leaving you with only 50 copies, then flood the marketplace with books so that many outlets are now selling brand new copies for 1.90!!
Oh, and plus they expect to retain the rights to the book for 6-12 months so you can't find another publisher or publish it yourself. Except I threw a hissy fit and got my rights back.
Well, my bad news is someone else's good news. You can now buy copies of The Mommy Manual at Amazon for 1.90 plus shipping!
So actually, as someone whose mission is to unburden, enlighten and equip mothers (maybe I better add "inform"), I am happy to announce how much easier it is for you to access this book! Head on over to Amazon if you've been waiting for a sale.

Oh, this is timely for me! Earlier I read the comment you added to mine on your strong-willed child post and I was just about to comment again, telling you how I'd love to read your book but, unless I found it at my library, your advice is not very encouraging, equipping, or enlightening. I'll have to talk to my husband and see if this is something we can do. :)

I meant to include in my previous comment how sorry I am you've had to go through this just to get your book to the public you're trying to serve. While it is my gain, it's a struggle unfair to you. I hope you're able to find a publisher or publish it yourself. I interpreted for a paralegal course once and the teacher, a former lawyer, emphasized how important it was to always retain your rights when publishing, so you always have your work and the desired 'goods'. I don't know, of course, but it seems to make sense to me. You've given so much to the mothering community and have so much experience and wisdom and knowledge to share, you should have an outlet to share it all. Praise God for blogs, I guess? :)

Boy can I relate! Similar thing happened to my first book. I'm sure that almost every author has a story. Glad you have a good attitude about it.

Wow! That's an incredible price. There are so many moms struggling financially right now, this will be such a blessing to them.
I think I'll pick up a few copies to share. And one for myself too.
I'm sorry the publishers chose to stop selling it, but I'm confident it will help lots of women--maybe more than it otherwise would have.

Barbara,
I just discovered this sale a few weeks ago and bought this book. I have to say that it is one of the best books for moms that I have ever read and I've read plenty of them! I'm recommending it to all my friends.

How disheartening is that?! Good news, though -- they've sold out, so that means encouragement is in the hands of more moms.
