Obama - the abortion president's juggernaut
News flash: Laura Ingraham just reported that Chris Matthews, in cheerleading for HHS nominee Kathleen Sebelius (see below) referred to pro-life opposition as "terrorism - verbal terrorism."Let me see if I've got this right: opposing Bush nominees for any reason under the sun, opposing the efforts he made to keep our country safe - in ways that used to be considered treason in our country - are okay by Matthews. But questioning an appointee for Health and Human Services who has been a huge friend of Planned Parenthood and abortion clinics, and who has provided cover for the most notorious full-term abortion provider in the US - is "terrorism - verbal terrorism."
Today's highlights from LifeNews:
Pro-Life Advocates: Obama Record Proves He Doesn't Want to Reduce Abortions
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- President Barack Obama hasn't yet spent a full two months on the job but he's already promoted and paid for abortions overseas, stacked the White House with abortion advocates and is overturning protections for medical personnel who don't want to be involved in abortions. Leading pro-life advocates say that Obama's initial pro-abortion record proves he's not really interested in reducing abortions. Congressmen Chris Smith from New Jersey, long considered the top pro-life lawmaker on Capitol Hill talked about this with CBN News. Asked how Obama could prove he really wants to lower the number of abortions in the United States, Smith said he could join pro-life advocates in at least enacting minor abortion limits. "Join us in saying no taxpayer funding for abortion. Join us in saying we're going to pass women’s right to know laws including the legislation dealing with pain that unborn children feel during the commission of an abortion," he explained. "If he’s not going to go there then there is no common ground. What is he talking about? It is a trap." "It is a false proposition that we're supposed to say ‘give more money to Planned Parenthood and that will reduce the number of abortions’. That won't happen. We will get more abortions because we will get more abortion clinics," he added. Full story at LifeNews.com
Pro-Life Groups Oppose Obama Nomination of Pro-Abortion Sebelius for Health
Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- President Barack Obama's nomination of pro-abortion Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius to become the next Health Secretary is not going over well with pro-life groups. They note Sebelius' longstanding record against any limits on abortions and say this adds to Obama's pro-abortion record. Mathew Staver, a pro-life attorney who heads the Liberty Counsel law firm, tells LifeNews.com, "Sebelius is unfit to serve as the Secretary of Health and Human Services." "She is so blinded by her extreme commitment to abortion that she cannot be trusted to act in the best interest of those she should protect. Having her serve as the Secretary of Health and Human Services would be like the proverbial fox guarding the hen house," he said. He pointed out that Sebelius has close ties with late-term abortion practitioner George Tiller, who currently faces multiple criminal charges for potentially illegal late-term abortions. Yet Sebelius honored Tiller and his abortion center staff at a secret event at the governor's mansion. "While receiving large contributions from Tiller, in 2003 Sebelius vetoed legislation designed to regulate the health and safety of abortion clinics, including Tiller's," Staver added. Those pro-lifers currently unfamiliar with Laura Ingraham may want to consider listening to her radio show. A Catholic convert (raised Baptist, I believe), Laura has been faithful in covering pro-life issues, including the growing pressure from the laity and some bishops to deny communion to Catholic politicians who support abortion. As I write, she is interviewing Archbishop Joseph Naumann.
Like Biden, Pelosi and Sebelius, Chris Matthews also calls himself a Catholic, btw.

Here in Kansas we don't know if we should be glad she is leaving or horrified by what she is moving on to do.
