Obama Machine targets Limbaugh - who will be next?
I've only mentioned once the undignified posture of the White House in singling out and attacking Rush Limbaugh - as though after years of the Mainstream media heaping contempt on Bush and him bearing it like a gentleman, His Obamaness cannot tolerate even one man promoting the conservative point of view.
It's gotten worse. A couple weeks ago in regards to the ongoing juggernaut toward Obama's socialist nation, Rush said he hoped Obama failed. Meaning that he hoped the plan many of us believe will lead to the destruction of America would fail.
The Obama Machine picked up those four words - "I hope he fails" - and began running them sans context in ads - like campaign ads, though the campaign now is smearing conservatives - against Rush.
Recently they've set up a conflict between Rush and Michael Steele, the new chairman of the Republican National Committee. And when Steele apologized to Rush for some off-the-cuff remarks, they made hay of that too, saying Rush runs the republican party.
With this barrage of daily attacks, it should come as no surprise that Politico has found that there actually exists an Obama team of Clinton retreads - Rahm Emmanuel, Paul Begala and James Carville - dedicated to demonizing and marginalizing Rush.
Here's the scoop:
Rush Job: Inside Dems' Limbaugh planTop Democrats believe they have struck political gold by depicting Rush Limbaugh as the new face of the Republican Party, a full-scale effort first hatched by some of the most familiar names in politics and now being guided in part from inside the White House.
The strategy took shape after Democratic strategists Stanley Greenberg and James Carville included Limbaugh's name in an October poll and learned their longtime tormentor was deeply unpopular with many Americans, especially younger voters. Then the conservative talk-radio host emerged as an unapologetic critic of Barack Obama shortly before his inauguration, when even many Republicans were showering him with praise.
Soon it clicked: Democrats realized they could roll out a new GOP bogeyman for the post-Bush era by turning to an old one in Limbaugh, a polarizing figure since he rose to prominence in the 1990s.
Why is Rush so important? Not because he has a cult following a la Obama, but simply because he articulates the conservative point of view most Americans outside the heady, elite political and Hollywood circles hold.
The Left cannot tolerate dissent.
Most readers here are too young to remember that Richard Nixon was brought down for - among other reasons - having an Enemies List. The press found this absolutely reprehensible. Yet they're not interested that Obama has people dedicated to the destruction of a private citizen? Yes, Rush is a public figure, but he is not an elected official. Have you ever seen this kind of personal attack from Republicans on specific individuals they regarded as enemies?
Don't expect the formerly self-described Mainstream Media to cover The Obama Enemies Scandal. They've given a pass to compromised, tax-evading cabinet nominees, secret communication, broken promises, doublespeak and double standards.
Rush is so clever. This afternoon he offered to debate Obama face to face. He offered to fly him to the studio on his own jet - which Rush noted he worked and paid for himself - so as not to spend taxpayer dollars for it. he offered to feed him the $100/pound steaks the Obamas are fond of serving in the White House - only Rush will pay for them instead of the taxpayers.
I appreciate how Rush can cut through the craziness and expose people by such a simple and common sense challenge. It's a wry note in a rather humorless situation.
I am so disappointed. Although I did my best to research and warn readers of the dangers I felt Obama posed to this country, following the election I also bowed to my fellow citizens and promised to give him the benefit of a doubt and to hope for the best.
Unfortunately, it's all been so much worse than anyone could have imagined. There has already been so much damage done to our political infrastructure. Our economy is collapsing - I believe because the Obama Machine wants it to collapse in order to usher in their own vision of socialism/fascism. There are such powerful threats to our rights - first and second amendments - and the media America once trusted and relied on are engaged in protecting and covering up for a man who acts more and more like a cult leader, reminding us in every speech of the enemies who are out to thwart him, demanding complete obeisance from the public, or destroying those who dare to speak out.
In the meantime, serious mistakes are being made in foreign policy which the press ignore - snubbing Britain and sending secret communiques to Russia . And while Obama preaches to the peons about personal responsibility and doing with less, money is being lavishly spent by the White House on food, travel and entertainment.
Can you imagine the clamor if a Republican behaved this way?
These are dangerous times, my friends. Our freedoms are truly in jeopardy.

Amen to that, Sister. I, too, worry about where this country is headed. There was an article some years back about the life span of a country. It predicted the demise of the United States as we know it. Back then I thought it was absurd. I'm not thinking it's so absurd anymore.

Right on, Barbara. Thank you for helping to spread the word on this.

Your analysis of Obama, his administration, and the condition of our country is on target.

This is EXACTLY why it is so important for all those who see this and love this country, some fair-minded dems included (REALLY, how many far left dems can there be? There have to be a good number of them who are starting to see this too), to be working NOW to make sure the 2010 Congressional races result in more balance of power. Hopefully, it will not be too late. IMHO, every dem who voted for the stimulus should be replaced since not one of them read the bill. How can it be ethical, not to mention acceptable, for an elected official to give a yes vote to something they have not read?!

Karl Marx originally envisioned that Communism would evolve from a capitalist society, rather then from violent revolutionary actions in “The Communist Manifestoâ€. Perhaps that is why it failed in Russia. (Actually there are a great many objective reasons why it will always fail, but I will not bore you with a good economic lecture today)
Obama want to go down in history as the “President of Change†by being the first and ONLY president to prove Karl Marx was right after 160 years, when it comes to how to create a Communist country. None of Obama’s, Castro’s, or Chairman Mao Zedong advisors knows how to effectively RUN a Communist country as it has failed by all that have attempted.

Well Barabara, I agree that it is very disconcerting to have the President of the country calling out names from his press lecturn. But if you step back to consider it for a moment, this action is bringing Limbaugh's esteem to the SAME level as Obama. An arrogant and self assured, confident leader would only hear hollow echos from dissenting voices, only someone afraid would mobilize his staff to make taking down a single voice a priority, especially in this day of economic uncertainty.
Obama is legitimizing Limbaugh and making him even more relevant. Through his actions he is giving Rush more power. This whole exercise may be right out of the Alinsky playbook (to identify, isolate, freeze and escalate) but I don't think Alinsky was talking about someone who was already "escalated". These rules work on folks who are used to "quiet and anonymous" lives. Well, Rush can hardly be considered "quiet" and he will blast every effort to subdue him. Rules for Radicals also uses the "pack" mentality, whereas, a group of people force a single target to comply. Rush is smart enough to look past the "pack" and narrow in on Obama.
Check out the transcripts from Limbaugh's show today. Rush is calling out Obama. He is neutralizing the whole White House/MSM "pack" and identifying the President as the source of all the efforts from the White House.
You MUST check out this link, if only to see Rahm Emanuel back in his ballet days. I didn't know that Emanuel was a former dancer.

Bullies are despicable and what is happening here is nothing short of a PRIVATE American citizen being bullied by our Federal Government. I find it disgusting that Obama and his cohorts (Emanuel, Carville, Begala, Stephonopolus, Podesta) have no shame and dance to the tune of a Hungarian billionaire as the USA goes down the tubes.

On 9/11 When America was in crisis all Americans rallied around President Bush.
His approval ratings shot up to over 90% Democrats and left wing liberals all rallied behind the President.
Now we are in an economic crisis as severe and dire as anything we have seen in our lifetime. Banks are going belly up, Americans are losing their jobs, the stock market continues to plunge, millions of homes are in foreclosure....
And you conservatives are showing your patriotic side by hoping that " Obama fails"
That's very patriotic of you.
[Note from Barbara: that rallying around the president did not last very long, did it Norris?
Soon it was back to constant carping, demonizing and - yes - wishing for the US to fail in Iraq.
The economic crisis is not as compelling as a foreign attack on American soil and everything Obama has done has been calculated to make it worse. I believe that's because - as Rahm Emanuel has specifically stated, they can use the crisis for political advantage.
The economic crisis is not Bush's fault but the fault of the Democratic congress. Read my entries on Barney Frank and Chris Dobbs.
The crisis is being purposely made worse by Democrats who want to use it as a reason to shift ownership/control of the means of production in this country from the private sphere to government.
Please note that while private jobs are being lost (as businesses deal with the many threats levied against their prosperity by Obama&Co, government jobs are on the rise. Does that tell you anything?????]

Next "crisis" ... healthcare.
One "crisis" after another for at least four years!

Quote from Norris:
And you conservatives are showing your patriotic side by hoping that " Obama fails"
That's very patriotic of you.
My answer: You better believe that we're hoping he fails but not the way you think. If a president has lousy and dangerous plans then, darn it! Yes! We want him to fail!!! We don't want this country to fail. We want his plans to never take root because they are bad for this country. If you think that standing up for a man who promotes killing innocent unborn children is patriotic then your belief system is messed up.
Can I trust a man who goes out of his way to promote death to children? Is he trustworthy with anything else in life? No. If he is willing to do that then he is willing to do anything. God help us.
And that's not even touching any of the fear-mongering and bullying that this administration has been doing in...just...one...month.

Yes, Sue I am with you. I am hoping he fails This administration stands for everything that I do not believe in. This administration is filled with law breakers who should to be prosecuted. This administration is bent on destroying the lives of private citizens. Must I go on?
Citizens do not even know the difference, what a shame. Presently it is not against the law to have a debate or conversation on those policies and philosophies.
All this (and more crisis, chaos and castrophe to come) in less than two months.
Let's not forget the role of the Congress has played in creating the current state of the union.
