Beautiful.
I'm not a huge Palin fan, but I'm more of one now. That was so heart-warming, and unfortunately, timely, with Obama's "joke".
Thank you for posting this! It brought tears to my eyes.

Sandra -

Thanks for your open-mindedness. You might have been more of a fan if the Obama Media Squad had allowed her natural radiance to shine through.

As it was, everything we heard was distortions and lies. Imagine if they had lavished the same love on her that they lavished on Obama?

But they couldn't - because she is a true pro-life Christian who stands for everything they despise.

Ok. You're making me cry again. That was so beautiful. And Trig was beautiful.

Because of you and my best friend (another Barbara-smile) who has a Down Syndrome daughter, I was able to say with conviction to another Mom yesterday, "You are so lucky to have a Down Syndrome child." She smiled with understanding and agreed. I think she was very glad to hear me say that. And I meant it.

As a 39 year old who is 10 weeks pregnant, this issue has been on my mind and heart. My mother and sister are a nurse and a nurse practitioner and are warning me of all the things that can go "wrong" and have been saying after this one you're finished with your family, right ? This will only be our second child. When I tell them we're leaving that up to God, they roll their eyes and sigh. I was on birth control when I got pregnant the first time and we've been so thankful that God gave us the beautiful gift of a baby that we never thought we wanted. Although, we don't know if our baby will have Down Syndrome, I know the chances are higher because of my age, I still experience a lot of the feelings Sarah was talking about. I'm a worrier and I wonder if I would be up to the challenge. Although my family and in-laws are not as supportive as I would have liked I know that God has a plan for my life and He has a plan for this little life inside me. I can't tell you how much I appreciate this blog ! It gives me the support and encouragement I need. I remember reading on your blog something like God doesn't call the equipped, He equips the called. Amen !
Thanks for posting this heart warming video.

Dee, don't worry about your age. My fourth and fifth came after I was 40 and they are beautiful and a real joy. I am 46 years old and still hope for another. And if it is a Down's Syndrome child? I would consider myself blessed and a witness to life.

She is amazing! What a beautiful thing to watch after I've been feeling "blue" this morning about the president's insensitive remark.

A mentally handicapped person wouldn’t use Obama’s inability to be honest and respectful as an excuse for them to be rude….. When for any reason does a leader use the short comings of others to get laughs. NOT funny, NO class, Exactly what I would expect from a person that is so sensitive about himself he blew a stinking fit over a Curious George Cartoon

Dee, Congratulations on your pregnancy! You are a witness to life and to the Creator. Don't let those around you get you down about your desire for another child, if God blesses you, after this baby. You are open to God's blessings, they are not. By being a godly mother and praying for them, you will be planting the seeds for their conversion. My family was worried about me when I had my last 3 children at ages 40,41, and 43. Our youngest, Samuel, has D.S. and he is such a blessing! They are seeing that although my life was especially challenging the 2 years after he was born, that now, our Samuel is the treasure of the family. He brings the best out in all of us and our faith in God has grown so much! Just trust in Jesus and all will be well!
The video of Sarah and Trig and Piper is beautiful! For those who didn't like her during the elections, I think her positions on just about everything, have to be making more sense than the decisions of our President! What shame he brings to the United States! Julie
