Tea Party movement gathers steam

teaparty.jpgLast week I reported on the grassroots movement to protest our out-of-control government spending.  This weekend, protests continued, including Salt Lake City, Riverside, CA, Green Bay, Harrisburg, PA, Yonkers, Palm Beach. - a sampling I got by googling for news.

Just as the Obama march toward Marxism is not going away, neither is the growing protest of the citizenry.  We must take this seriously and participate if we want to effect change - yes, that word so freely and dishonestly used by Obama to bring in the votes of the gullible and emotion-driven masses.  As well as those who stand to profit by furher wealth redistribution - why work when you can be supported by the labor of others, after all?

The Tea Party movement is growing and focusing on future events:

Re Tea Party, which blogs daily on articles like Chavez calls on Obama to follow the path of socialism  is recommending sending our Congressmen a message March 10 to remind him that we still believe in the 10th amendment. They plan a nationwide protest July 4.

Tax Day Tea Party is planning a nationwide protest on April 15th.

Portsmouth Tea Company backs Tax Day Tea Party movement

SOMERSWORTH -- The owner of a local tea company is donating 70 pounds of tea to a group planning tea parties, much like the famous Boston one, to protest actions of the Obama administration.

Marshall Malone, owner of the Portsmouth Tea Company in Somersworth, said he learned about the Tax Day Tea Party movement on March 4, and immediately wanted to be involved.

"I spent a few minutes in blogosphere and learned about the Tax Day Tea Party." Malone said. "I got involved because of my grave concern about the cash flow crisis in the nation. The way in which we are planning to solve it by duplicating more debt is counter intuitive.

"My goal is to alert people that the problem is more than debt. It's a cash flow crisis If our governors would come to this conclusion and think like a businessmen rather than politicians they could see there are solutions other than mortgaging my children's future to China."

On a humorous note, Malone said an environmental group in Illinois told a group there they are not allowed to dump tea because it's an environmental hazard. "That's funny," he said. "The fish would actually get a wonderful supply of anti-oxidants."

The Tax Day Tea Party idea came from a conservative group called the Don't Go Movement (www.dontgomovement.com).

Thanks for this information! I also read about this on Michelle Malkin. I don't think anybody where I live will be participating. The water will probably still be frozen.
Happy International Woman's Day everyone! Remember that women were an intergral part of the American Revolution and many other movements, and we must not be silent on this.

I am signed up to host the Tea party in NJ on tax day! (amazingly enough, we actually have lots of people in this blue blue blue state)

So glad that you wrote this post and even more impressed that BlogHer has had it featured for days :)
