Ben sings: There Is a Balm in Gilead

At last - thanks to the techno-savvy of Number 2 Son Matt - I am proud to post Number 3 Son Ben doing what he does best.

Ben's Senior Recital was held March 31 at the old Thomas Roads Baptist Church in Lynchburg - 90 glorious minutes of hearing my son sing solo - everything from Ialian opera to old spirituals.

Here is the one that made me cry:

Sometimes don't you just look at your husband and marvel together at how God blended your genes to create something so fresh and so new?

Love,

Ben has a wonderful voice, and how lovely to hear your son singing such beautiful lyrics!

Posted by: evergreen | April 11, 2009 11:04 AM

Wonderful Barbara - God's gift.

(I also know there was a lot of hard discipline involved in honing!)

Tech-savvy Matt needs to obtain a computer interface and a decent condenser microphone to record Ben.

They both get experience - Ben gets to review his material and become accustomed to the recording process, and results can be used to open doors.

Matt gets a talented brother to work with, and gain recording experience in a practical sense.

Who knows - it might lead to nice income.

Thanks for sharing.

Absolutely beautiful! He has a real gift (and good looks, too!)

On April 18th, our family travels to Eastman School of Music to hear our oldest son sing a Master's of Vocal Performance recital.

He also wants to sing opera. Maybe someday Ben and my David will sing together and we can sit together and be proud! (at the Met) :-)
