CNN's Susan Roesgen calls Tea Party Obama-bashers, anti-government, anti-CNN
Michelle Malkin has a great round-up of photos and links from yesterday's Tea Party events.
One important note: no matter how the Obamedia spins it, this was NOT a Republican event. In cities around the country, attempts by Republican politicians to hitch their wagon to the grassroots Tea Party movement were soundly rebuffed. I was thrilled to hear that Michael Steele's request to speak at the Chicago rally was denied.
I received several emails and photos from readers who attended rallies with their children. I will run a round-up later today, so send me whatever you'd like me to run.
The media is beside itself. As someone who lives within the metropolitan DC area - well, almost - I can tell you that every time a left wing group hiccups around here, they get full fawning coverage. But when it comes to this authentic grassroots movement by people not known for being malcontents, people who've been working for pay, raising a family and paying their bills for many years - and who have just finally had enough of footing the bill for wasteful spending by politicians who reward their constituencies with pork to secure their reelections - well, this calls for hammering hardcore interviews.
From the Never-Let-Facts-Get-in-the-Way-of-Your-Preconceived-Bias Department, get a load of this CNN newschick Susan Roesgen, who roamed the Chicago Tea Party looking for a fight. I will preface this by saying that I caught some moments preceding this on the TV screen in the McDonald's where I stopped on my way home to use the bathroom, only to stand unbelieving in front of the TV screen as I watched this woman tear down everyone she spoke to. By the time this spot occurred, the crowd had become understandably angry at Ms. R's antagonism toward them:
Shep Smith responds (pretty funny):
And from the school of New Investigative Reporting - grassroots style - this YouTuber dug into Ms. Roesgen's past shining journalistic moments to contrast her glee at a three-dimensional version of Bush as a cross between Hitler and Satan:
Another Chicago Tea Partyer caught what occurred between Ms R and the crowd after the cameras stopped rolling:

Are you kidding me? How could that possibly pass as objective journalism? Then the snarky anchor heaped on more criticism. Can we please stop pretending there is no liberal bias?
You know what bothers me more than just about anything? Snarky liberals. I get so angry when people make some snide comment implying that they are so much above those stupid conservatives.
I'm fuming. Honestly, I want to have even harsher words but I'm trying to contain myself. If CNN had an ounce of journalistic integrity they would fire both of these women. Of course, they wont.

What a witch! Sorry, but that was my first thought. Then she has the NERVE to criticize the woman in the last video for being antagonistic! Is she that deluded? Sheesh! She was not "reporting", she was hate-baiting. Disgraceful!

WoW!!!
I would not want to be on her shoes!!!
A big "hurray" for those who put her in place and for the ones recording it and sharing it with us.
Eat that CNN!!!

Thank you Susan Roesgen. Thank you for showing your true colors. Thank you for being a true representative of what the mainstream media truly is!
Well, folks, it seems that the fight is on! It's not "conservatism in exile" anymore. And how long did it take? Three, four months? Wow, imagine how strong the movement will be by November of 2012!

The telling comment was made by the studio CNN anchor, Kyra, at the end of the "report" when she said: "But you can obviously see, uh, the tensions rising there, uh, on both sides, conservative and liberal, that side much more conservative there with the protest." You have to assume the "liberal" side was represented by her very own liberal on the scene - Susan Roesgen.

Good observation, Terry.

This woman and the news organizations insulting and dismissing the ordinary, hardworking, honest American taxpayer is disgusting and infuriating. Their superior attitude and liberal bias is overwhelming, while they accuse "right-wingers" and Fox News of pushing an anti-government and anti-cnn agenda. Whose agenda got this incompetent president elected ? I am outraged and I hope we'll see more and more ordinary citizens step up and speak out even if the cable news networks ignore and insult them. These liberal activists posing as reporters and journalists are only exposing themselves for what they are. Shameful.

Wow, I had only seen the original clip. Thanks for the rest of the story, Barbara.

Shameful. If her bosses at CNN decided to fire her for tipping their biased hand a bit too far, they could at least do so in good conscience, even in this tight economy. With such an affinity for dramatic fiction and performance, she could no doubt make a living on stage or big screen.

OK, well she showed her true colors and I'm sure that many viewers were not impressed...I remember having to do a speech ( in my public speaking class in college) that had to be totally unbiased. I guess Susan must have missed class that day.
What's next Barbara? Tea parties on 4th of July? I hope they keep going!

Rude, "better than thou" reporters and anchors on CNN like Susan Roesgen is the reason my family hardly watches CNN anymore.
Lou Dobbs is the only true non-bias news show on CNN that I can stomach for a full hour. Remember when CNN used to be the news standard? What happened to them?

Hey, Barbara. Great coverage of the Tea Party Tax revolt. I attended the one at the capitol in Sacramento, California with my husband and brother. We were thrilled at the attendance estimated by the CHP to be 5,000 or more. ...and people were steamed.
I had a sign that said "80 yr. old mom in nursing home paid taxes...that's WRONG!" I was frankly enraged having completed my mom's (she has Alzheimer's) taxes the day before and found she owed money! Her AGI was $17,000! She paid zero in previous years.
That's the difference between the lying liberal government that says they are going to reduce taxes for 95% of people. But obviously raise it hoping you won't notice. Pathetic!

Barbara, I came back to show my husband the last video and it's been shut down by CNN. Hmmmmm?!

Wow...isn't it amazing now the last video clip has been removed "due to a copyright claim by Cable News Network, Inc"
I want to see it!!!!
Thanks for reporting for us Barbara!

WHAT? How does CNN have a copyright claim on a video they didn't shoot????
