MommyLife Mother's Day Giveaway
2009 MommyLife Mother's Day Giveaway I began combing Ebay and bidding until I'd collected an entire set. Then I went to work collecting more - keeping them in a chest in my bedroom - so I could create sets for people I love. There are six figurines in the series, but while my set is complete, I've never been able to find another sewing cutie.
This is really the inspiration for my giveaway. I've been blogging now for over four years. I began blogging because I wanted to serve and encourage young mothers - much as many years ago I became a Montessori teacher because I wanted to serve and encourage children. Because God has somehow designed us so that as we serve others our capacity for love grows, after years of writing and blogging and emailing and doing workshops where I get to meet mothers in person - I often find myself feeling that my cup runneth over.
Mother's Day seems a perfect time to acknowledge that love and to have an opportunity to share a little something that affirms the everyday life we have in common.
So I am opening this giveaway - which simply involves leaving a comment (just one each) for my Mother's Day drawing - with a first prize of a set of figurines that has a lot of me invested in it:
The other four prizes are smaller, but they all have my imprint too:
My home, it is my mother,
within her heart I live.
Her love is like no other;
the sunshine it does give.
And like the spreading branches
of a truly fragrant tree,
My mother's heart and arms
have made a perfect nest for me.
The third prize is a book which is currently out of print, and which I always look for used copies of because it is so special - Where's Our Mama?
The fourth prize is a copy of Chicken Soup for the Soul Power Moms, which just came out last month and which has a story by me: "Every Mother Is a Working Mother"
The fifth prize is a copy of my book The Mommy Survival Guide: Making the Most of the Mommy Years.
And the sixth is a book which has been on my bedside stack for years - Motherhood: An Anthology of Verse and Prose
What is hard is that I wish I could give more - something for everyone. The drawing will be random, but I've already begun praying that God will have a hand in who wins each prize!
