Obama sics Homeland Security on right wing radicals

rightwing.jpgIt's all coming true, isn't it? Under the direction of Obama's appointment Janet Napolitano, the Department of Homeland Security has just released and sent to local police departments the following document -

Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment

which you can download and print by clicking above.

The Washington Times reports:

Federal agency warns of radicals on right

The Department of Homeland Security is warning law enforcement officials about a rise in "rightwing extremist activity," saying the economic recession, the election of America's first black president and the return of a few disgruntled war veterans could swell the ranks of white-power militias.

A footnote attached to the report by the Homeland Security Office of Intelligence and Analysis defines "rightwing extremism in the United States" as including not just racist or hate groups, but also groups that reject federal authority in favor of state or local authority.

"It may include groups and individuals that are dedicated to a single-issue, such as opposition to abortion or immigration," the warning says.

The White House has distanced itself from the analysis. When asked for comment on its contents, White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said, "The President is focused not on politics but rather taking the steps necessary to protect all Americans from the threat of violence and terrorism regardless of its origins. He also believes those who serve represent the best of this country, and he will continue to ensure that our veterans receive the respect and benefits they have earned."

The nine-page document was sent to police and sheriff's departments across the United States on April 7 under the headline, "Rightwing Extremism: Current Economic and Political Climate Fueling Resurgence in Radicalization and Recruitment."

It says the federal government "will be working with its state and local partners over the next several months" to gather information on "rightwing extremist activity in the United States."

The joint federal-state activities will have "a particular emphasis" on the causes of "rightwing extremist radicalization."

Interesting that this is timed just prior to tomorrow's nationwide Tax Day Tea Party Protests - which the Obamedia has already begun to work on discrediting with a smear campaign.

These are crazy and dangerous times, my friends. Consider how solicitous Obama is of Islamofascists and terrorists, how we are no longer allowed to even use the terminology of War on Terror (see Clinton: Administration Has Stopped Using 'War on Terror' Term - Secretary of State Hillary Clinton tells reporters that the Obama administration has quit using that line to describe the effort to fight terrorism around the world) - but the new administration is quick to scapegoat dissenters as Rightwing Extremists. We can release Gitmo prisoners to free up our forces to focus on fellow citizens who vote for the wrong party - including vets, who are singled out in the DHS report as potential radicals.

Barbara,

I don't know what to say to this outlandish garbage, but please, please keep bringing us the news! At this point, just by reading your blog, I've actually gotten ahead of my husband on the news! He called me earlier today to tell me of Ricky Perry's press conference, and I'd already read it here. Thanks for everything you do!

I saw a copy of a Bush admin. document from 2001 that warned about leftwing extremists: the current threat. Did you blog about that? It seems like a double standard.

[Note from Barbara: give us the reference, please. Your criticism isn't worth anything until we have a document. When you produce it, I will do an analysis. I'm all about fighting hypocrisy, but I don't think this is the case.]

I heard about it on MSNBC and they showed a picture of it. I read more about it here:

There's more about it here:

Actually, when I googled it, there were a lot of references about it. Hope this helps!
