Sheriff offers Loudoun Public Safety Meetings

We've been having an increase of violence in our county lately - and a particularly brutal attack of a 50something couple last month which left the husband dead and the wife barely hanging on. There is some nervousness and rumors are flying, so I'm really glad to see these community meetings and I hope you will pass the word on to friends and neighbors. It's important to be aware of what is going on and I hope the Sheriff's office will be forthcoming. We need to know the truth.

Loudoun County, Virginia - In an effort to better utilize resources, while at the same time providing a higher level of service to county residents, the Loudoun Sheriff's Office will be hosting quarterly public safety meetings in each of the four service areas of the county.  All residents, homeowners associations, community groups, and town representatives are invited to attend.

Items to be discussed are recent crime and crime trends in your area, traffic safety concerns and other public safety related issues.  The meetings will be led by a Loudoun County Sheriff's Office Captain who represents your service area.  Also in attendance will be supervisors from the Criminal Investigations Division, the Special Operations Division, Community Police Officers, and Crime Prevention Deputies.

The schedule for the first series of meetings is:

• Dulles South: Tuesday, April 21, 2009 at the Dulles South Public Safety Center community room located at 25216 Loudoun County Parkway, Chantilly.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and last for 1 hour.  Contact Captain Jeff Ebersole at Jeffrey.Ebersole@loudoun.gov with any questions.

• Western Loudoun:  Monday, April 27, 2009 at Harmony Intermediate School auditorium located at 38174 West Colonial Highway, Hamilton.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and last for 1 hour.  Contact Captain Ken Pratt at Kenneth.Pratt@loudoun.gov with any questions.

• Central Loudoun: Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the Stone Bridge High School cafeteria located at 43100 Hay Road, Ashburn.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and will last for one hour.  Contact Captain Thom Shaw at Thomas.Shaw@loudoun.gov with any questions.

• Eastern Loudoun:  Tuesday May 19, 2002 at the Cascades Library Room C, 21030 Whitfield Place in Cascades. The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and last for 1 hour.  Contact Captain Rick Frye at Ricky.Frye@loudoun.gov with any questions.
